The hotel itself is great. Clean, modern, relaxed vibe and the staff all appeared friendly. Food and drink: However our main problem was the food, there was not a standout meal, everything was bland and a lot of the food was dry as if it had been sat around… even the cucumber was dry… a vegetable that is 96% water. The desserts were all very similar (mouse based desert or jelly). It seemed to always be a bit of a burden over the entire day as every meal breakfast, lunch and dinner were not enjoyable (apart from the pancakes at breakfast). There was a lack of fresh fruit and the cereal I had was stale (I had this multiple mornings and it wasn’t a one off), the ice cream was extremely cheap tasting. All of the fish I had had no flavour at all as if it had every bit of life boiled/poached out of it. We did start eating out towards the back end of our stay as we couldn’t deal with it anymore. Neither of us are picky eaters but what we do expect is that the food should be better than something you can cook at home when you are paying out large amounts of money. We were watching other people’s reactions to the food as they sat down and I would say it was quite apparent the majority of people had the same feeling towards the food. The other issue we found with the eating situation was that the food started to get put away around 45mins before they were actually meant to stop serving so make sure you get there about a hour before the time it is meant to shut to ensure you can guarantee you can get as much selection as possible. The cocktails were all very sweet I do have a sweet tooth however after 2 or 3 I was a bit fed up of them, a lot of the cocktails seemed to be funny neon colours which would also suggest to me they are very sugary. The local beer they have on tap wasn’t really for me either, it was a bit fruity tasting which I personally don’t really like in a lager but other people will like it. The iced coffees were nice but as far I we were aware you couldn’t get any flavourings. Which didn’t bother me but again will bother others. Room: When we arrived at the hotel we were fortunate to be given a free room upgrade… which is always a great start to your holiday. The room was clean and seemed fairly up to date and well looked after. The bed was comfy but maybe a bit too soft for me but that’s just preference I guess. The issues we did find were that the aircon rarely worked (I have read this in other reviews) I think it worked for around 3 days of the 7. The room key holder that allows the electricity to work in your room broke on day 2 however this issue was quickly resolved which was great. Hotel in general: Everything was clean and tidy inside and out. Cleaners were regularly going around the site obviously as well as the rooms. As we started at the first week of opening for the season the outdoor bar wasn’t open for half of our stay but when it was it was a nice place to chill out at night. The pool bar was never in use fo
