Hercules Plus Faliraki

This property was surprisingly amazing! I had a fantastic time, the staff couldn't do enough for you, I spent time there as a solo traveller and they looked after me very well. Pool was amazing, very tranquil and peaceful, the restaurant was amazing, with cocktails served at the poolside, and traditional Greek food from a Greek chef This hotel is clean and tidy, quiet and relaxing, air con in the rooms and also close to nature! The hotel is a short flat walk to the beach, shops and hire car stations. Thank you so much Maria for making my stay amazing, love to you and your family, I will be back ☀️🩷

We booked a 7 nights vacation in the hotel Hercules in Faliraki. We have chosen the hotel because of its location in proximity to a nice sandy beach. Faliraki itself it’s a nice place with lots of shops and tavernas, and very vibrant night life. We arrived at the hotel and were given our room’s key. First of all, we were surprised that the air condition is not included in the price. It’s 8 euro per day. Okey, we decided to pay as when we entered the room, it was really hot. The second bad surprise was the room itself. The pictures that we saw on the website of the hotel and in some other websites were totally different from what we were given. The room was old with modest furniture, the bathroom was obviously not renovated in recent years, everything was shabby and worn out. The room had a very bad scent of a cigarette smoke (okey that one cannot be controlled by the owners) which was almost unbearable. We went to the reception and asked the guy there if there was some mistake and we were given a room that we had not booked. The answer was that we needed to talk with his boss and he could not do anything. We also mentioned the pictures on the website that didn’t have anything to do with the reality. The boy answered that they had problems with the website and the rooms were just like what we received. We insisted to get in touch with someone who is responsible for the rooms and he promised to advise his boss who was out of the hotel at that time of the day. Later during the day we met the lady who welcomed us in the hotel earlier who seemed to be the owner of the hotel. When we asked the same question to her she explained with indifference that the pictures that we saw were truly from the hotel but they were from some another type of rooms that they had – called deluxe ones. She even took us and opened one to show it. She was not impressed at all that the pictures on the official website of the hotel were not the ones that describe most of the property. She complained of her small profit and so on. When we asked how much it would cost to change our room to that one, she offered the deluxe room at a price that was adequate to a 4* hotel, and that one was only 2*. We refused the “deal”. However, we asked to be moved to another room as ours stank as hell. We were given one, overlooking the “mountain” (the first one looked to the front of the hotel – over the pool). Just have in mind that there’s not any sea view from the hotel as the sea is away and the hotel is pretty low-built to be able to see the sea from it. On the third day of our stay, we met the housekeeping lady. And that was the worst of all. Coming back from breakfast to our room we saw the room door opened and the housekeeping trolley outside it. We thought that the housekeeper would be cleaning our room and we decided not to bother her, but just to enter and take our bags for the beach.
