Rainbow Sakurajima

This hotel is about a 10-minute walk from the Sakurajima ferry dock. It is located in front of the sea, so you can enjoy an open view, and hot springs are also available in the annex next to it. It's a good choice if you're staying in Sakurajima.

It is right next to the Sakurajima ferry terminal, and there is also a sightseeing bus terminal in front of the entrance. The large windows of the rooms overlook the sea and the promenade, and the rooms are spacious. The meals at the restaurant on the first floor were also carefully served in order and were delicious. It was an inn that I can strongly recommend to friends traveling to Sakurajima.

I only used the day spa. The quality of the hot spring water was good and the facilities were fine. There was a sauna and I could relax with a view of the ocean. There was a supermarket in front of the hotel, so I could buy local souvenirs.

This is a national lodging facility located on Sakurajima, the symbol of Kagoshima, overlooking Kinko Bay. The Japanese-style room overlooked Kinko Bay. Ferries were coming and going. There were only two room keys, which was helpful. The bath was a natural spring, and had a brown, iron-like smell. There were also floating deposits. There is no open-air bath. We had dinner in a large restaurant. It was the standard Sakurajima gozen meal. I thought everything was set, but some dishes were freshly made. The amberjack sashimi and the deep-fried amberjack were both delicious. At first, I thought the portions were small, but it was just the right amount to eat with rice. Alcohol was 650 yen for a bottle of beer and 600 yen for a cup of shochu. My partner ordered 800 yen sake, and when I asked "Why sake (in Kyushu)?" he said "Yes, it was Kizakura. 1980 yen for a 5-go bottle of shochu is cheap. I should have ordered that." There was a breakfast menu, which said "Satsuma delicious breakfast," and it was a satisfying breakfast. My partner said the simmered hijiki was the best. The fisherman's pickled silver-striped round herring was unusual. Drinks such as juice and coffee, miso soup, and pickles were served in a buffet style. There were two types of coffee, and you could bring it to your room. It was a national lodging house conveniently located within Sakurajima.
