Right next to the Otorii of Terukuni Shrine. Tenmonkan Street is also within walking distance. The hotel itself has a taste of the late Showa or early Heisei era, and aging is noticeable everywhere. There are two elevators, but they are too small to be used by a large number of people. However, the room seemed to have been renewed, and I thought it was brighter and cleaner than the corridor and front desk. The bathroom in the room is not very large, but it is not a problem because it has a fairly large public bath, which is rare for this type of hotel. Instead, a bathing tax is required. It is located right in front of Terukuni Shrine, and the surrounding area is full of Tsurumaru Castle ruins, castle mountains, museums, etc. The location is very quiet and perfect for history buffs. There are many statues of Saigo around. The hotel's facilities are old, but from the 8th floor where I stayed, I could see Sakurajima directly in front of me, and the public bath was on the same floor, so it was very convenient. I had dinner at the izakaya in Tenmonkan, which is about a 7-8 minute walk away.
