Overall ok for short stay, room is quite big. Check in and out was easy. Some dogs barking at night and machinery noise in morning. Ear plugs provided. Beds are comfy and aircon is cold.
Ample car park lots but the turnings to ramps are a little tight. Drive slowly.

Not bad a hotel stay, there’s a little smell in the room but still decent for the price of the hotel. Overall a very value stay!!

The room is nice, and the hotel service is good. However, one thing that bothered me was the bedsheet. Although it was clean, it had some stains. I requested a change, but the new bedsheet also had stains, though fewer. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and worth the money.

🥵 Terrible Stay – Would Not Recommend
I’ve stayed in many hotels before, but this hotel is hands down one of the worst hotel I’ve ever had. Here’s why:
1. Faulty Door Lock
The access card system is completely unreliable. Most of the time, I couldn’t even open my own room door. Every time I left the room, I had to worry about whether I’d even be able to get back in. This is beyond frustrating.
2. Poor Room Location & Zero Privacy
I was assigned a room on Level 3, which is actually only one level above ground floor, and the worst part? The window directly faces a parking building. Not only does this mean zero privacy (unless you keep the curtains closed at all times), but I could also literally smell car exhaust whenever I opened the window.
3. Inconsiderate Management – Woke Everyone Up at 8 AM
The noise situation here is beyond bad. The hotel is located near a nightclub, so I could clearly hear drunk people shouting at night.
But what’s even worse? The hotel itself is responsible for the worst disturbance. On the morning of Chinese New Year, at 8 AM, the hotel staff (yes, the staff themselves) set off a five-minute-long firecracker display and hired a lion dance performance right outside the hotel. This wasn’t some random public event—it was organized by the hotel.
I’ve attached a photo I took from my window—clearly showing the hotel staff in uniform setting everything up. Imagine staying in a hotel, thinking you’d get a peaceful rest, only to be woken up by 5min of deafening firecrackers, followed by 20min of thunderous drum beats at 8 AM, arranged by the very place you paid to stay in.
Yes, they provide earplugs, but no one warns you that the hotel itself is the biggest source of noise. If they cared about their guests at all, they would have scheduled the performance at a more reasonable time. This level of inconsideration is just unacceptable.
4. Housekeeping Knocking at 10 AM
After finally getting back to sleep, housekeeping knocked on my door at 10 AM. This is way too early—most hotels only start housekeeping after 12 noon. Yes, I should have put the “Do Not Disturb” sign, but 10 AM? Seriously?
Final Verdict:
I absolutely hated my stay here. Poor security, terrible location, awful noise insulation, and completely inconsiderate management. I will never book this hotel again, and I’d advise others to stay far away if you actually want a good night’s sleep.

What I like:
-Parking of the car just outside the hotel lobby.
-Prompt response in getting what I asked for.
-Morning brew from the dispenser.
-Big porcelain cups.
What I dislike
-My room was facing the carpark.
-The lady at the check-in did not hold the door even though she knew I was going into the lobby with my luggage after her.
-The size of the room did not commensurate with the price compared to other hotels.
-No extension of the hours for drinks from morning brew to cater to guests who can only check in at 3pm.

Decent room for the price, not a great location if you want to be near to any malls but e-hailing is relatively cheap to get to where you need to go.
Rooms are in a refurbished apartment and aren't in the best condition but is acceptable for the price, around RM230 for a last minute weekend booking.
Hot water tank runs out over time if you take too long a shower.
There are a bunch of Thai food stalls that open late around the hotel as well as two 24 hour convenience stores.

It's a decent hotel for the price I paid. I would recommend people who are on a budget to stay here. We grab everywhere and hotel counter told us that we need to book grab to and from Aster Court for ease in finding the hotel. Room is big. There is a lipstick mark on the carpet near the dressing table.

Review for Fives Hotel DNP
Fives Hotel DNP offers a pleasant and modern stay, ideally located in Johor Bahru for both business and leisure travelers. The hotel is close to key attractions, shopping centers, and restaurants, making it convenient for exploring the city.
The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well-appointed, featuring a contemporary design that creates a cozy and relaxing atmosphere. Amenities such as complimentary Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and flat-screen TVs are included, ensuring a comfortable stay. The bathrooms are tidy and equipped with essential toiletries, though they may feel compact for some guests.
The hotel staff are friendly, professional, and helpful, often going out of their way to accommodate requests and ensure guest satisfaction. The check-in and check-out processes are efficient and hassle-free.
Fives Hotel DNP also offers a small café for light meals and beverages, although the variety could be expanded. While the hotel does not feature extensive facilities like a gym or pool, it provides great value for travelers looking for a stylish, no-frills accommodation.
