This has to be the worst ryokan we come across! It costed us US$250 to stay in a tacky blue painted wall room facing an old rundown block of building and some houses. The indoor Onsem is a tiny pool and the outdoor one is even smaller enclosed by immediate walls on all side without any view whatsoever. The water didn’t even flow just still water in both of them. The breakfast is a joke in a large basic hall consisted just small fish and a few small dishes plus rice! As my son’s Japanese isn’t that good, we had no idea why we were charged ¥300 for the most awful experiences we came across. It’s a basic hotel for China tour groups mainly. Well, it’s the May golden week hence we were charged extortionist pricing for gladly just one night!

I stayed at his house when I went to Japan when the ban was lifted at the beginning of this year. The room was large and clean. There were hot springs both indoors and outdoors. The courtyard was well-kept and you could see it from the window. The impression was good, I stayed at his house again this time when I went to Izu. The boss was very enthusiastic. He still remembered that I had been there at the beginning of the year. He saw me sitting outside smoking alone at night and gave me a can of beer as a gift. Like [strong][strong][strong]
