Het is een mooi en statig hotel. Doordat het oud is heeft wel hier een daar wat meer aandacht nodig in onderhoud. De grandeur maakte veel goed. Geeft wel echt een highland-gevoel.

昔ながらのホテルなのか廊下を歩くと少しギシギシ言います。部屋は綺麗で、リラックス出来ます。
朝食付きはコンチネンタルで種類は多くないが、ゆったりできます。

All was great until check out. The lady behind the desk, who identified herself as the supervisor was not a very nice person. Rather rude actually. Because of her, I will be recommending my fellow MacDonald Clan to never go there. And that is so sad as everyone and everything about the hotel was awesome!

The Royal Highland is a former British Transport Hotel and, as such, is very well located right next to Inverness railway station. It also has much of the grandeur you expect from such historic premises. This hotel could be fabulous with some investment, but it is a little tired around the edges. However, it is clean and the service friendly and helpful. I would return!

This hotel seems to get some bad reviews but I think many are unfair. From what we experienced it was a good hotel, great location and the person who checked us in was very good. Especially as the she had to handle an awkward customer ahead of us. Bed was very big and had a good mattress. Usual stuff you want in a hotel room and nice complimentary toiletries.
Location of the hotel is ideal for exploring Inverness centre, less than a 10 min walk to the most famous bank machine in Inverness (IYKYK). There is limited parking but a reasonably priced multi story car park is only a few mins walk away.
Staircase in reception area leading to the first floor is also very impressive.

The Royal Highland Hotel is an old lady with a lot of charm, but with the marks of time. The lobby is magnificent, the grand staircase sumptuous and majestic. The dining room is grandiose and takes us back to the days of train travel and grand hotels.
Without wishing to diminish the old-fashioned charm of this hotel, the shower is also from another era, with a light trickle, and the temperamental toilets also seriously lack flow.
A little refreshment of the bathrooms and windows wouldn't be a luxury.
But... we forgive this Old Scottish Lady anything, such is its charm.

Historic and charming, this hotel was a great stay on our Scotland trip. If you are arriving or leaving Inverness by train, this hotel is right outside the station and so is very convenient.
