Drumdevan Country House, Inverness

I've read the many 1 star reviews for this Hotel, and I can understand the comments that were made, no breakfast or evening meal and no staff on the site. However I do have an alternative view. I agree the building probably shouldn't be called a Country House Hotel, it is a bit tired, and the photos of the rooms are accurate based on my room, but, and it's an important but, my room although a bit tired, had a new mattress, pillows and duvet. The TV and kettle worked fine, I knew there was no food option, so I made alternative plans. The room was clean, and so quiet. I stayed here for a business trip, and I can honestly say I has the best nights sleep in any Hotel I've stayed in. It is also quite inexpensive, which in the Highlands of Scotland in summer is unusual. In summary, now that I know the limitations, I will definitely stay here again, although not perfect I feel the owners are trying to invest where they can, bed, mattress shower and don't forget you will get a great nights sleep, isn't that what a Hotel should provide?

Website suggests far more than reality. Hotel and grounds run down, scruffy room, by no means a ‘country house hotel’. Very misleading

No one on site and a keyless entry system. Met at the door with a container on the wall full of cigarette butts and stuffed with papers, rotting wood and general decay. Not an ominous start. Room was big but very tired with dirty marks on the wall and cracks and filler falling out. Paid for breakfast as advertised which we never received and no kitchen or dining area. Shower had somebodies long hairs in it, not ours as we have very short hair. Tried calling but no one would answer. Could not recommend this accommodation.

Website looks okay but it is the worst accommodation I have ever stayed at. No reception (I should say no staff on duty at all during our stay) so you let yourself in using a keypad at the front door. The rooms are at best tired, but really do not look clean. There is no breakfast. Vastly overpriced.
