Highland Bear Lodge & Luxury Bear Huts

Visited this beautiful accommodation with family, we love to stay somewhere different and quirky and the Lodge was not a disappointment, set in beautiful gardens with red squirrels running around only 7 mins from Loch Ness this should be your first choice for accommodation, we stayed in the Lodge itself, the rooms are beautifully appointed and you have full access to a large lounge area, with a lovely continental breakfast provided in your room and fabulous smelling local shower wash and shampoo, we could not fault it and wish we had stayed an additional day to explore more. If you like to stay in beautiful places with excellent rooms then this is the place for you.

We stayed in one of the cosy little shepherds huts. We didn’t know what to expect but were pleasantly surprised. Peaceful and private and perfectly kitted out for a short stay. Owners made sure we had all we needed for breakfast. Very comfortable. Even the rain didn’t spoil our visit.

We stayed in one of the ‘Bear Huts’ which was truly awful. The hut was little more than a shed with a bed. You couldn’t swing a cat in it. The Huts are in a woodland which means it was hiving with midges. So you couldn’t sit outside. The lodge is about 6 miles from Drumnadrochit. So it’s in the middle of nowhere. You’re not even allowed into the lodge. We were told not to open the shed windows due to midges. This meant it was roasting during the day but freezing at night. The entrance to the lodge is very steep and covered in very deep pot holes. This shed accommodation was so bad that we considered booking into a local B&B. And we would have if we could have found availability. We’ll never return and wouldn’t advise anyone staying here. Sent via BT Email App

We stayed in one of the "Bear Huts" and our friends stayed in the other. These were very clean. The beds were comfortable. Not super close to downtown Inverness but close to Loch Ness. My husband and friend are both around 6 ft. Tall and bumped their heads going into the bathroom. The bathroom and shower were a tight fit.. Room was pretty small, especially once the suitcases were brought in. This experience was glamping. Would not recommend for someone with mobility issues.

A beautiful quaint atmosphere. Totally felt like we were in Scotland!

Fabulous stay and beautiful location I cannot recommend the Highland Bear Lodge highly enough. What a stunning location and place to stay. Everything was absolutely lovely and very unique. We stayed in the Prince Charlie room and it was absolutely gorgeous. I have never stayed anywhere with an in room breakfast provision, but it worked so well and we really enjoyed it. Thank you so much.
