"As it happens to be the 1700th anniversary of the Council of Nicaea (held in 325 AD), I booked one night for a quick trip to Iznik.
Seyir Otel offered a lovely clean room with all the necessary amenities (in-room bathroom, towels, slippers, hand wash, shampoo, body wash, water, coffee, tea kettle, mini fridge, lamp desk lamp, TV etc.) The weather was quite cool so I didn't turn on the air conditioner. There is a cafeteria on the 1st floor of the facility and a lovely garden/outdoor sitting area. The location is superb, right in front of Lake Iznik (I could see the lake from the window), and about a 10 minute-walk to the town center (the Small Hagia Sophia). Before departing, the ladies managing the space were very kind in helping me book transportation.
It's a lovely neighborhood with trees, flowers, olive and pomegranate trees, shops, eateries. Besides the rich historic legacy, there are also quite a few outdoor activities to enjoy (kayaking, fishing, walking around the lake, etc.). The sunset by the lake is breath-takingly beautiful. The people of Iznik are very friendly. I would definitely like to return in the future!"
