"The avyannna hotel and this island have left a deep impression on us. The hotel is in a relatively quiet location on the island, not far from the bikini beach. The staff around are very warm and friendly. They will say hello and have any problems. They are very happy to help us solve them. And the sea activities provided by the hotel are also very worthwhile! The price is very high. After I went to the resort island, I found out how cost-effective full day tour here is. Manager Vidura is also a very good person. If you have any questions during your stay, he will reply to him in time. There is also housekeeping that is really good. Every day when cleaning, I will arrange everything for you to be neat and clean. It is super meticulous. Our five days here are the most memorable times in the ten days we played in Madai. "Our two-week vacation at Arrival Beach and Spa on Gulhi Island was the perfect trip for us. If you're looking not just for a beach holiday but also for a chance to experience authentic Maldivian life, this is an excellent choice. Overall Impression: We spent 14 days at the hotel and were truly sad to leave. It was our first such long vacation abroad, and it was simply wonderful. About Gulhi Island: This island is a great example of a ”local” Maldivian island. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay: a designated bikini beach, its own house reef for snorkeling, several shops, cafes, and restaurants. For entertainment, there are football fields, water sports, and various excursions. In the evenings, stingrays and nurse sharks swim up to the pier – a very unusual sight! Island Pros: - A small but very interesting island – if you stroll around leisurely, you can discover something new every day. - The local residents are very friendly and speak decent English. - The island is easy to get to – just a 30-minute speedboat ride from Male. - No mosquitoes – a big plus for evening walks. - You can observe fruit bats. Island Cons: - Sometimes you can smell paint from the repair shipyard. - There are flies. - Not very much vegetation. - Occasionally you see some trash. About Arrival Beach and Spa Hotel: The hotel left us with the most pleasant impressions. The staff is very responsive and the location is convenient. What We Liked: - Attention to detail: daily cleaning, towel changes, complimentary water in the room. - The rooms are clean and fresh, with good soundproofing and a wonderful view. - Amenities: beach towels and snorkeling sets are provided, universal power outlets. - Free sun loungers and umbrellas provided by the hotel on the beach. - Varied dining – buffet or a la carte menu. - Musicians perform on weekends – creating a pleasant atmosphere. What Could Be Improved: - The pool seemed rather cold. - The gym is very small. - During heavy rains, we noticed minor leaks. - The menu became a bit repetitive in the second week. About the Hotel Team: We would like to give special thanks to the staff who made our stay special: - Arif Sha - a great guy who knows a lot about sports and the hotel. - Ripha - the best expert on the Maldives and marine life. - Dilshani - a charming girl, pleasant to chat with on any topic. - Revil - the sweetest girl, her smile charged us with positivity for the whole day. - And of course, a huge thanks to the cleaning staff for their daily and important work. Verdict: We definitely recommend both Gulhi Island and Arrival Beach and Spa. This place is for those who value not only comfort but also genuine human connection. We left feeling like we had been visiting good friends."

"It's very close to the Gulhi Pier. I contacted the hotel via WhatsApp for round-trip transportation. It's the off-season in the last week of July, so it's hard to make an excursion reservation at the hotel front desk because there aren't enough people. I recommend coming a day in advance and making a reservation with the Gulhi Island excursion company. I did the shark and stingray drone video on a private boat because there weren't enough people. But it was so good! The hotel is clean and the beds are comfortable."

"Comfortable location - close to the bikini beach, excellent view from the balcony, a smart-tv and terrace, a careful and responsive manager. Of the minor downsides: not the most stable wi-fi, poor quality towels, no free drinking water. Breakfast is the most common"

"The hotel has a perfect location, the best on the island: it is in 10 meters only from the beautiful main entry to the bikini beach. The beach is so big and clean! Umbrellas are for an additional fee but there's no need in them cause you can sit wherever you want under the tree. I had a cosy room with a balcony, on the second floor. In the room, you have everything you need: an air conditioner, a kettle, a fridge, lots of lights, towels etc. Cleaning is upon request. Wifi was good. The staff is extremely friendly and polite, always ready to help, they helped me so many times with different questions, the kindest people!! A team of divers live at the hotel and leads excursions for guests from the whole island. Snorkeling with them was the best experience in my life! I've seen colorful fish, big sharks, dolphins, and even a sea turtle. For breakfast, you have a choice between continental and maldivian breakfasts, I personally loved the last one, it was delicious. Always fresh fruits and juice before breakfast. Sometimes in the evening, the hotel prepares barbecue dinner with fresh fish from the sea and with traditional music, such an authentic experience! There are several restaurants on the island to have dinner, including the hotel restaurant. They're more or less of the same quality and price, liked local food there. Gulhi is very calm and tiny island, just 30 min on the boat from Male island. (The transfer to Gulhi from the airport costs $25.) There were not many tourists on the island, when I stayed. No noise at night at all, so if you're looking for calmness, this is probably the better choice for you than Maafushi. Also it feels safe if you're a female solo traveler. For me, everything was just perfect, loved the place, the food, the beach, the excursions. I think the guesthouse is the best price/quality option on the island. Thanks so much❤️"
