"The hotel is strategically located in front of the Shinano Omachi station and also bus station to Ogizawa. Within walking distance there is supermarket where you can buy dinner, Daiso and drugstore. Their breakfast is buffet style and has variety of choices (Japanese + Western). It has 5 washing machines (washing+dryer) and another 1 machine for women only. It has a public bath too. There is only 2 lifts but it is fast so no long wait. The room is clean and has all the necessities provided. Perfect stay for those who intend to go Ogizawa in early morning (breakfast buffet starts at 6:30am and the next bus is 7:05am). You can send your luggage to Dentetsu Toyama station for 4000yen per piece at the hotel reception."

"The room was exactly as pictured, and I slept so comfortably at night! The air was incredibly fresh, and the breakfast was delicious! The onsen (hot spring) is divided into indoor and outdoor sections; after 8:30 PM, it's practically empty, with very few people. The outdoor onsen is like a fairyland, with the sounds of insects chirping and flowing water! The hotel allows luggage check-in to Toyama Station for 4000 yen per suitcase, which must be returned to the front desk before 8:30 AM."

"It is a very traditional Onsen Hotel. And it was one of the best Onsen Hotel I have ever stayed. Subtle but pretty decorated lobby, spacious room in Japanese style, beautiful river view, great facilities, wonderful food, and most importantly friendly staffs. Highly recommended!"

"Awesome hotel under the hotel group chain. Location is excellent however not that near to local dinning places (average about 15mins drive). Hospitality and services were beyond expectation. Booked room was as described and as shown in hotel's website. In reality, the room was very spacious and comfortable. My family and I had a little car trouble on day of check out, and the hotel staff were kind, patient and extremely helpful in resolving the issue. Kudos to the staff going beyond their job scopes I believe."

"It was a very big hotel with nice onsen (although it smells a little of chlorine) the place was swarmed with tour groups so buffet quality was not great but edible with quite a lot of variety. Parking was spacious. I gave 3 stars for service because we encountered a rude souvenir shop staff who yelled at us in Chinese and continued doing so even after we told her that we are not Chinese!"

"Everything was ok, quite standard. It was clean and really, no problems. I only have a slight issue with the toilet: The shared toilet is shockingly small, and for the female one, it says that 2 can fit in there. Thankfully I was alone for my showers if not it would be really awkward. I also found it weird how if the main toilet door opens, the person changing can be seen by anyone outside. :( Otherwise, it was a pleasant stay and a good rest point for those going on the kurobe alpine route trail."

"The main purpose is to take the bus to Ogizawa from Shinano Omachi Station for 540 yen. It is just opposite the bus stop. The next morning, take the bus to Ogizawa, which is about 25 minutes and a little closer. The courtyard environment is nice, the interior furnishings are also very Japanese and pay attention to details. The dinner and breakfast are quite rich. The guest's luggage was delivered, and the staff wiped the wheels very carefully. The service is good."

"The hotel's four-person room is larger than expected! The hotel's interior environment is better than expected, and there is also an open-air hot spring. The receptionist at the front desk is an old man, his English is not very good, his attitude is average, and the service experience is not very good. But based on the cost-effectiveness, it is still recommended!"

"I’ve stayed at many ryokans throughout my travels—often making up half of each trip—but this one felt a bit different. It seemed to be run by just one person, who I assume is the owner. Everything was self-service, which might be understandable considering it was the most affordable option among the ryokans in the area. Most amenities required an extra fee, such as towels. Payment was made by dropping coins into a basket and making your own change, which wasn’t very convenient—especially since I didn’t carry much cash. One thing I appreciated was the luggage delivery service. I was able to leave my bag at the lobby before check-out and have it sent to Toyama Station (for about 4,000 JPY, cash only). What stood out was the creativity in the shared spaces. There were several common rooms designed for relaxing and spending time—perfect if you’re traveling with friends. You could play ping pong, read books, watch TV, or use the canteen, which had a microwave and dishes available. They even had coin-operated massage chairs and a small fitness room. However, I must mention two important downsides: 1. Limited nearby dining options – Many restaurants shown as open on Google Maps were actually closed. The only one that was open had extremely slow service—I waited nearly an hour for dinner. 2. Insects—large ones – Unfortunately, I encountered big insects in my room, which made it hard to sleep. (He even provided insect-catch tape for me while introduce the room) I stayed awake most of the night, worrying it might come back—especially stressful since I had to get up early the next morning to catch a bus to Ogizawa. Minds you, stairs only, need to carry your luggage down by yourself. Overall, while it offers good value for the area and has unique communal features, this ryokan may not suit travelers who prefer full service, cashless payment, or guaranteed comfort."
