"We stayed at the Japanese Style Tatami room for our time at Hirosaki. Location was near Hirosaki Castle Park and not too far away from Hirosaki JR station. There were local bus stops located nearby the hotel - the hotel also provided a free shuttle bus service from the hotel to Hirosaki Station (one way only service, so you still got to find your own way to the hotel when you arrive), just got to inform the front desk at least 1 day in advance.  Room was clean and had a good view of Hirosaki city, free flow of Apple Juice and coffee at the lobby downstairs was a plus."

"Overall, we were very satisfied with the hotel's facilities and service. The standard room we stayed in was clean and hygienic, but the bed was a bit small. The soundproofing was not okay."

"The location is fantastic, right by the JR station. This was incredibly convenient given the heavy snow in Hirosaki, as I didn't have to drag my luggage far. The hotel was clean and tidy, and the front desk service was excellent. It's also very close to Hirosaki Castle, within walking distance or you can catch a bus right outside. There's even a direct bus to Morioka from the front of the hotel, which I'd consider for my next trip – super convenient without having to take the Shinkansen!"

"Hotels in Hirosaki are truly popular during cherry blossom season. The hotel's location is right across from Hirosaki Station, just a two- to three-minute walk from the station. Both single and double rooms are 11 square meters, making them quite small, making it difficult to unpack large suitcases. However, for the sake of the cherry blossoms at Hirosaki Park, this was a minor issue. The other room amenities are relatively simple, more than enough for a good night's sleep. The hotel's breakfast is simple but delicious. Pick up a sign at the entrance to choose your preferred breakfast time and go the next day."

"While this hotel shows some signs of age, if **high cost-performance ratio** and **convenience for cherry blossom viewing** are your primary considerations, Smile Hotel Hirosaki remains a solid choice. ### 📍 Location and Transportation The hotel is located in a bustling area of ​​Hirosaki city center, about a 15-20 minute walk from **JR Hirosaki Station**. While this might be a bit tiring with large luggage, there's a bus stop right outside, making it very convenient to get to and from the station. Its most charming feature is its excellent location; **Hirosaki Castle (Hirosaki Park)** is within walking distance, making it an ideal base for those wanting to capture the beauty of the ”flower rafts” or participate in the Hirosaki Cherry Blossom Festival. ### 🛏️ Accommodation Experience The hotel's facilities do have a **aged feel**, with decor leaning towards a traditional business hotel, but the interior is maintained very cleanly. Many guests were pleasantly surprised by the **well-supported, medium-firm mattresses**, providing a very good night's sleep after a long day of hiking. ### 🍳 Dining Recommendations We highly recommend adding the **breakfast** here. It features a wide variety of local ingredients, including Aomori's signature apple juice, as well as many ”mom's cooking” Japanese side dishes and freshly baked bread. Enjoying a satisfying breakfast in a retro atmosphere before heading out is a small but delightful experience that has consistently received positive reviews from guests."

"The breakfast was great. The communal bath on the first floor was great. The room was good, and even the price was reasonable for cherry blossom season in Hirosaki. The only downside is the location - it is some 25 minutes away from Hirosaki station on foot, and 40 minutes away from the castle which is probably going to be your main destination in Hirosaki. Still a good value for its money."

"I drove to the hotel, and there's a parking lot at the back. There was no water in the room (apparently, you get it if you book directly through their official website). It was raining and I didn't want to go out, so I tried to buy a drink from the vending machine, but it wouldn't accept the new 1,000 yen note. They provide instant coffee and hojicha tea sticks with hot water, but the hojicha wasn't very good."

"Toyoko INN is a famous hotel in Japan I think. They are at every big train stations. The price and location are almost good, as well as the survice. For this Hirosaki hotel, the view is quite good if your room has a window towards the station. I only spent 1 minutes and 10 seconds when I checked in and out. The room is okay, but the air conditioner is too noisy and its warming effect is poor, affecting our sleep. Overall, I can rate 8/10."
