"What surprised us most about this hotel was the amazing breakfast! There was so much variety! It's very close to Hikone station. It seems that it even offers bicycles for (free) use. We thought of going for a short bike ride in the morning but didn't have enough time--needed to get to Kyoto (only an hour away) quickly. This hotel makes an overnight trip to see beautiful Hikone castle very feasible."

"Very good location, close to Shiga station. Many eateries nearby. Walking distance to Hikone castle. Friendly staff with good English. The only downfall is that the layout of the room is rather cramped, so if you have more than 1 big luggage it might be a bit difficult to pack and unpack."

"The hotel is relatively remote, with few restaurants and shops nearby, making it suitable for self-driving tourists. There are not many types of breakfast. The hotel has a hot spring, and the hot spring also has shower gel and shampoo for children, which is quite considerate!"

"The breakfast is very good and the hot spring experience is also very good. There was no one when I went there, it was just a charter. The location is right by the lake, comfortable and quiet, there is a 7-11 next to it, you can do some simple purchases. The owner of the hotel is a kind and amiable grandmother, who can recommend local activities to us in simple English. I am very grateful to her for taking care of her for a few days."

"I thought the outlet was hard to use ... and there was an extension cord in the drawer. There was no outlet in the bathroom and the temperature had to be adjusted by the amount of hot water and water, but the equipment was old. You can take a tram to visit the Battle of Guanyuan in half an hour. Especially the viewing of the exhibition hall is worth enjoying. It is less than an hour from Kyoto by tram. "After a crowded Kyoto, I love the peaceful and tranquil environment of this beautiful onsen hotel-ryokan and charming castle town. Everything about the hotel speaks of relaxation and well-being. It's only a 7-8min walk away from Hikone Train Station but there is a hotel shuttle that leaves at 9, 10 and 11 am if you need a drop off. Pick up could probably be arranged too. The hotel offers a pretty outdoor terrace with Castle view, an on-site spa with massage, a library lounge with free drinks till 10pm, a foot reflex corner and a compact onsen with a silk bath (all with Castle view) and hot stone benches. I had the whole onsen to myself in the evening, so it was very relaxing. The staff are kind and lovely too, making an effort to explain all the services and amenities in English. The buffet breakfast was also one of the better ones I've seen in my trips to Japan. If you're visiting the Castle, the entrance road is right outside the hotel. The main castle road is about 5-10 min away but you will pass by a famous Japanese confectionery, Taneya and Club Harie. Their souvenirs are one that even the Japanese cherish. I would wish to come here again with my partner one day. Thank you for the wonderful stay."
