"[Manchester Airport Hotel | Convenient and Clean, but the lack of an in-room phone and having to go down to the lobby is a real pain!] This place is super convenient if you're just looking to catch a flight or a train, but some small details really bring down the score. The Good: Top-notch location: Perfect for those catching early flights or making connections! It’s incredibly close to both the airport and the train station, just a few steps away. You won't even break a sweat dragging a big suitcase, and that's truly unbeatable. Clean and simple room: The room hygiene was well-maintained, clean and tidy. The decor is simple and comfortable, and the bed was pretty good for sleeping. Overall, it's a decent place to stay. The Bad: The iron was broken: I wanted to iron a shirt only to find out the steam iron was broken and completely unusable. The maintenance of the facilities is just average. No phone in the room! This is truly the most infuriating part! There was absolutely no phone in the room. If you wanted to contact the front desk or housekeeping for help (e.g., to replace a broken iron), you couldn't call anyone. To solve any problem, you had to personally take the elevator down to the lobby to find someone. Going up and down and running around was incredibly inconvenient and a huge waste of time. Summary: If you're just looking for a convenient and clean place to sleep for a night before catching a flight, this hotel is worth considering. However, be prepared that if anything in your room breaks, you'll have to go down to the lobby in person for assistance."

"Check in was dreadful! On arrival 2 members of staff behind the reception desk were staring at a screen, I assumed they were dealing with 2 ladies standing slightly to one side, but when i managed to catch one of them's eye, he asked if he could help & seemed surprised that I was waiting to check in! I ushered forward the lady waiting in front of me. When my turn arrived I gave my name and that I had a room for 2 adults & a toddler & had requested a travel cot. I had no phone signal in the hotel so could not bring up my booking. He requested that I go outside to get signal which I did. On finding my online booking confirmation I went back inside & gave him the booking reference number to which he snappily told me it was wrong. I showed him. He asked me to write down my full name on a slip of paper the he proceeded to print off details of my booking thrust it at me & asked if that was me! He insisted that I had made a booking for 2 adults & 2 children. I read the booking details directly from my phone - 2 adults, one 2 year old, travel cot required. Eventually we were allocated our room & given the key. This whole process took 25 minutes, which also then put our restaurant reservation back. Not great with a tired & hungry 2 year old! (When we did get into our room, there was no travel cot. this was supplied later.) On a positive note, a member of staff who seemed to have some supervisory/managerial capacity did apologise and gave me free parking for the night. Other than this dreadful start, all was OK, just what one would expect from a premier inn."

"The hotel's location is excellent, and the triple room was a decent size. It's very close to the airport, and the breakfast, a beautiful English tea, was a lovely touch. This place is perfect if you have an early morning flight, and the airport metro makes getting to the city center very convenient."

"Overall, I was quite satisfied with my stay. The location is excellent, especially for those travelling via Manchester Airport. The room was clean and tidy, and the bathroom was larger than I had expected. The only downside was the breakfast, which I felt was not worth paying extra for. Other than that, it was a pleasant stay and I would consider staying here again."

"Really great location, in walking distance from the airport terminal and railway (but no walking directions given by the hotel which was a slight oversight) The shower was so good and great towels and comfy bed. Some design issues which let the hotel down. Difficult to move heavy cases over thick carpet and the door to the room wasn’t one that would latch to keep it open. Just annoying when you’re really tired… but the worst thing was the lack of soundproofing and the toilet making random flushing noises every few minutes. So sadly I didn’t sleep well at all which is surely the top priority at a hotel."

"The room design is good, the mattress pillow is very comfortable, very close to the airport, the price is right, the restaurant inside the hotel is very good for breakfast and dinner, it is very convenient to go to the city center of Manchester, it is very convenient to walk 0.7 miles to the bus station and transfer."

"The holiday inn was excellent, the staff so attentive and work so hard. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We sat for drinks in the 7 bar outside in the sunshine. Firins restaurant in the evening with great delicious food and amazing service . As was the breakfast this morning. Well done to you all made the start to our holiday so enjoyable."

"I stayed at Clayton Hotel Manchester with my family for one night on 01 August 2026, and we had a truly pleasant experience. The room had a good layout, was clean, comfortable, and perfectly prepared for a family stay. The overall environment felt fresh, quiet, and well‑maintained, which helped us relax after a long journey. The location is excellent, very close to Manchester Airport and the train station, making travel extremely convenient. The hotel also provides a shuttle service both ways from the airport and train station. The transport in charge was very helpful, assisting with our luggage and handling everything with extra care during drop‑off at the airport. This thoughtful service was truly appreciated. I would happily return and recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and welcoming hotel in Manchester."

"The good Great Location: The location was very convenient for our travel needs. Adequate Space: The room size was perfectly adequate to comfortably accommodate 2 adults and 2 small children. Comfortable Sleep: The bed was very comfortable. Good Washroom: The bathroom facilities were nice and met our expectations. Needs improvement No Luggage Assistance: There is no concierge or bell service. We had to drag six bags to our room ourselves, which was made much more difficult and exhausting by the hotel's carpeted floors. Very Poor Cleanliness: The hygiene was seriously lacking. There were dirty marks and hair on the carpets, the sofa was very dirty, and shockingly, we even found a live cockroach. No Air Conditioning: The room only had a small fan instead of proper AC. Since we stayed during a heatwave, this made the room incredibly uncomfortable. Paid Parking: Guests are charged for parking, which really should be free for those staying at the hotel. Lack of Basic Amenities: The hotel does not provide complimentary bottled water in the rooms, which feels like a basic necessity they should include."
