"The reviews can be quite negative from some people, and I do agree that the rooms could do with a freshen up, BUT it's an old hotel filled with character and history and we really enjoyed it for that. It's very central and 6 mins walk to Lime St Station and 7 min to Cavern Quarter. (The Vines pub next door is also a must & 15 min in opposite direction takes you up the Philharmonic pub, beautiful place with history and an award winning steak pie.). The hotel staff were friendly, helpful and really lovely. There are a couple of nice bars as you come into the reception area , including the American bar, which has a nice ship saloon feel. Got a great deal and stayed here for 3 nights and had a lovely stay. Would come back, the rooms do need a face lift though. 😀"

I stayed from **Thursday, August 7 to Saturday, August 9, 2025** — a perfect two-night city escape. Check-in after 3 PM was smooth and welcoming, and the 11 AM check-out time was standard and convenient. The staff were helpful and made me feel right at home from the moment I arrived. The hotel itself (which I could see in the booking thumbnail) had a classic Liverpool charm about it. My room was clean, comfortable, and had all the essentials I needed for a pleasant stay. While not ultra-luxurious, it was well-maintained and provided a cozy base for exploring the city. What I appreciated was the **transparent pricing** — I knew exactly what I was paying upfront (£126.90) and what I'd need to pay at the property (just £4.80). The Trip.com booking process was straightforward, and having their price match and stay guarantee gave me extra confidence in my booking. The app's ”Message Property” and ”Call Property” features came in handy when I needed some local recommendations. The ”Manage Booking” function made it easy to keep all my travel details organized in one place. Is it a five-star luxury hotel? No, but it doesn't claim to be. "The guy at reception was very attentive, the application was the one that wasn't very good because it didn't notify me that they had canceled the reservation. Despite that, the guy at reception was very kind and helped me."

"The receptionist was extremely friendly and welcoming. Although we had originally booked a room without a window, we were pleasantly surprised with a free upgrade to a room with a beautiful view. The hotel's location was perfect, making it easy to explore the area. The only thing that would have improved our stay further would be the addition of coffee and tea-making facilities in the room."

"Aside from a couple of dirty chocolate bottle caps on the bed and a few other things left around the room, including the security safe not functioning due to not having been reset since the last guest stayed, it was good. The only issue with the things detailed above is that it means that the bed wasn't cleaned properly at all and that I was unable to leave valuables in the room. The two boys at reception went above and beyond with amenities and were happy to just pass us coffees and waters at no charge. My friend was also unwell and appreciated this greatly. It would've been a 5/5 review had the bed been cleaner and the safe worked. Sadly it was confusing to find the room as well as exit the hotel, as the way we came in had a ”no entry” sign placed on the door shortly thereafter, despite everyone continuing to use it as the only possible way to access the elevator. Our floor was also still under construction."

"Really lovely hotel , beautiful big rooms with a comfy bed , all you need with a fridge, hairdryer and even robes. Breakfast was cold so I would not recommend that but hotel is great and shops and fast food venues 5 minutes walk away."

"The water pressure in the toilet is not enough, only hot water Just this little shortcoming The facilities and environment are very good, totally worth the money There is billiards downstairs to play, 1 pound per game Staff are very friendly"

"Everything’s neat and tidy. Great vibe well decorated with Everton and Liverpool memorabilia. City centre easily accessible by bus. Great and nice staff as well"

"It was a surprisingly pleasant stay. I stayed here for one night to attend a business engagement in the building next door. Reception staffs were very friendly and offered their free luggage storage service. Room is clean and spacious with great view of the city. They use Rituals as bathroom amenities. There is food 24/7. Breakfast selection was comprehensive (full English breakfast, cereal, fruits, bread, tea and coffee, juice, milk)"
