The lobby is located on the second floor from the flagpole. There's no elevator, so carrying luggage upstairs can be difficult. Try to stay near the flagpole; accommodations closer to the passageway offer less privacy. The parking lot is large, and there's a ski resort bus for convenient travel to and from Urumqi. To get to Tianchi Lake, you can only book a private car from the ski resort for 200 RMB round trip. They'll drop you off at the foot of the mountain and then take a shuttle bus down to the ski resort entrance. It's quite expensive. Those with the stamina can hike up and down the mountain; the distance to Tianchi Lake is manageable, and the scenery along the way is beautiful."
