The studio apartment we lovingly named The Nest because of its cozy, inviting feel. It’s a place to decompress while being in a serene setting. It also references the many birds we have on the property. We adore our wild birds and if you look closely enough, you will see and hear different types of birds from hummingbirds buzzing around to owls hooting in the night. We live on the property with our dog Scruffy in our own home and are completely separate from The Nest making it 100% yours! You will have your own private setting in the studio loft located above our detached garage.We are available to our guests throughout their stay. Only 90 minutes from NYC, immerse yourself in nature in this gorgeous refuge nestled in the woods. The upstairs has soaring 20 foot ceilings and wraparound windows overlooking a pond, waterfall and woods, with a living room, fully equipped kitchenette, bathroom, wood burning stove and desk with a piano. The beautiful open downstairs contains a living room, bedroom, TV and desk. Step outside to an outdoor shower and patio where you can sit and listen to the waterfall cascading just a few feet away.The queen bed in the bedroom accomodates 2 people. We allow 2 extra guests (4 total) who can set the air mattress up in the the living room upstairs. No parties or loud noise allowed.Hike the trails, swim in the pond or dunk in the stream that runs through the property, meditate, work out, contemplate life on the dock. Great place also to stargaze at night!The property sits across from a nature preserve, on a tiny, secluded road, so you are surrounded by trees and wildlife, yet minutes from many quaint towns, restaurants and shops. We are also near farms, hikes, bike trails, wineries, distilleries, historical sites and several leading performing arts centers (Fisher Center at Bard, Vassar, Kaatsbaan) and the Omega Institute.The Wifi is excellent (fiber optic network) and we have a Generator in case of a power outage.Guests have full access to and privacy in the Modern Barn and access to the pond, dock and 18 acres of trails on the property. Access to the front yard is restricted to people in our farmhouse which sits on the property (if anyone is in the farmhouse). Welcome to The Farm at Hyde Park; a micro farm experience like no other. The Calf Pen is a newly remodeled 2 bed, 2 bath home done with country charm and open space both inside and out. Bring your tent(s) and let the kids camp in the spacious yard. Or, pitch a party tent and have your backyard wedding with room to spare. This spring we are planting the expanded berry patches and the new raised vegetable/herb gardens. Come stay and enjoy locally made honeys, jams and syrups along with fresh farm produce.
