"The room is worth the price. The facilities are complete: hair dryer, iron, TV, hot water, soft bed. The accommodation is near restaurants and convenience stores. It is easy to travel. However, the disadvantage is that the way up and down the elevator is very complicated, like a maze. Overall, everything is okay."

"I was surprised at how clean and tidy my hotel room was, like a brand new hotel that opened not long ago. Not to mention the cleanliness and tidiness of the entire hotel. "Surprised by how clean it was despite being an old hotel in the area. I am overall satisfied with the hotel and my room, especially the cleanliness of the toilet and tub area. If I have to be really fussy and pin point a thing I did not like, it would be that the blanket is slightly thinner than I would normally prefer a hotel blanket to me. However, this is just my very fussy side speaking. Overall, I would give this hotel a 4.9 out of 5.
I had booked a room with breakfast during my two days there for a workshop. Both days are somewhat the same, food was decent. The workshop provided lunch which led me to again dining in the lunch buffet section, overall it was pleasant. I like it that the hotel provided a variety of Penang food over the two days. My fav was the rojak which I took a photo here haha! Hub enjoyed the pool and hot & cold pool (sadly the sauna was under maintenance).
Before I checked out, I also happened to be part of the Penang heritage launch ceremony. So, I got to see some of the really beautiful art work and nyonya clothing items on sale at the pop up stalls at the lobby too. The hotel also was serving nutmeg juice and Penang famous snack è±æČé„Œ.
I must mention too, that I got a sea view room which allowed me to see the extension project by MBPP. There was a very happening and lovely park opposite the hotel just minutes walk away. I couldnât help to bring myself over and was really happy to experience the joy of the families enjoying the facilities there. Huge slide, lots of climbing equipment and a very decent skatepark! Running track was very nice too! You must check it out if youâre in Penang!

"The room has a fake window with outside is a wall which cannot tell the room has âcity viewâ (see picture). The facility is old but clean. There is no table in the room which it is quite not convenience for me to browse on my computer. The layout of the room is not reasonable as the toilet door is hidden on the back of the room which is not convenient to use. The service is good enough as per this price range. The best for this hotel is it's location which is good for sightseeing. It is nearby the CAT bus stop #7 which is a free service to bring you to many different attractions in George Town."

It's a great gesture for me as I am going through chemo therapy, the hygiene issue is top priority for me. I was truly appreciative to have a quiet and peaceful environment to have all my meals in the hotel.

GGuest UserFive-star facilities, five-star front desk service, but one-star doorman service. I leave this review for all non-white potential guests: There's evident racial discrimination in the concierge service here. The doormen exclusively assist white guests by greeting them, opening car doors, and handling luggage. My family felt uncomfortable about it, so I can no longer ignore their experience. While the hotel itself is beautiful and all the rest staffs are friendly and professional, I strongly recommend standardizing your SOP or replacing the door team.

ZZeera RazuziIâm a frequent traveller. I have been staying in a wide range of accommodations/lodging from 1 to 5 â in many countries. I can assure you that I have a more wonderful experience staying in a hostel in Europe than in Park Royal Penang Resort. Whatâs more disappointing is that I experienced this in my own country.
Made 2 separate bookings (different dates on different sites) and I took my time to contact them much earlier to get them to combine my bookings. They replied me and assured that they were duly noted, will do the necessary to make sure a smooth check-in process for me. On the day of checking in, I once again informed the staff that i have contacted them, first thing when she greeted me. Thought she checked it in their system but she didnât inform me that she just checked me in for only one day - that I have to go down to the counter again the next day to recheck in. Luckily, i noticed it just 30mins before 12pm on the second day itself.
Their staff double standards treatment towards us guests was too obvious by the way they greet us local (at least me & my mom) and foreign tourists.
Room standard was just mediocre and did not even reach the level of a 3star hotel hygiene & cleanliness in Thailand. A hotel lobby didnât even smells like a hotel lobby.
Checkout experience- no one of their staff cared to ask if we needed assistance, because they were busy assisting a group of foreign guests loading their bags into the van.
Overall, i came to ParkRoyal Penang with the highest hope to experience the best stay with my family and i left deeply disappointed.

RRaphayFirst of all, a big thank you to Mr. Vickneswaran from the security team for his warm guidance and assistance from the moment we entered the auto parking system. He was incredibly helpful in showing us where to go and made us feel very welcomed right from the start.
To my surprise, one of the staff members even shared a piece of cake and wished us a wonderful honeymoon vacationâsuch a thoughtful gesture! (I was so touched, I forgot to ask for the staffâs name.) Moments like these really made our stay memorable.
Overall, the staff were genuinely friendly, helpful, and made us feel appreciated throughout our visit. Iâve also included a photo of the lovely card greeting we received from the teamâanother sweet touch that weâll always remember.
Thank you again to the whole team for making our honeymoon start with such warm hospitality!

GGuest UserLooking at the review of hotels in Malaysia, there seem to be tons of people giving negative reviews for almost every hotel so was pretty wary of booking this hotel and all the other ones I stayed at! However, I found that this was a decent hotel albeit with some minor problems.
To start with the good. The hotel is well constructed, by that I mean the rooms and walls are made of good material so that generally sound from other rooms or outside is not an issue. This is my main concern, because you must be able to sleep peacefully or live in your room without being disturbed by neighbours or the outside, that should be the primary goal of any hotel. The room size is also very large, although I found small things like the funny diagonal shaped desk not to be practical because it was too small to use comfortably. Also, you cannot connect your laptop to the TV with and HDMI because the TV is fixed to the wall.
I had some small issues with a blocked basin and the shower hose was broken, but these were resolved after a couple of visits. I needed to persuade maintenance man to change the hose, which I thought was strange as it was obviously broken. He called in housekeeping afterwards to clean up some of the water on the floor that came from the work. The cleaner used one of the body towels to wipe up the water. I said that he should at least use the floor towel and not the ones for the body. He said it was âJust waterâ. As someone who is prone to eczema, I have to be careful about detergents and what I put on my skin. If this is something that house cleaning do regularly, this would be a problem for me. (I did start getting some skin issues here, but cannot say for certain it was due to the hotel).
There was also some old stains on the bed sheets that I had to ask to be changed. Bed sheets like that need to be either bleached or thrown away. They may not pose any health risks but no one wants to sleep on visibly stained sheets. Also, the small sofa bench on at the foot of the bed was heavily stained and really needs to be re-furbished.
The breakfast was okay. I remember the dining area which is nice, but not much of the actual food. I just like eggs, toast, fruit and coffee.
The check-in is on the 20th floor, so you will probably only see the managers when you check-in and when you check-out. I had a nice Indian lady check me in. I saw one other man manager, portly Indian man, there when I tried to extend by one night, who I found to be less friendly.
I would stay here again, as the problems were minor. (I also stayed at the Citadines, which I absolutely do not recommend).

AAnna511Location is good, near the famous morning market Pasar Lebuh Cecil. The room cleanness and facility overall is not too bad. The bed is comfortable, shower is hot and strong.
However, there is some thing broken in the room, like the toilet hook is not useable, the shower head not user friendly (too low). If you shower more than 10min, it will flood.
However again, there is a big issue for travel who drive the car there. Cause the hotel is not prove parking. Even there is space in the hotel, but is still park at your own, caused there is no proper parking for customer. And I saw the city council did towing a car away due to illegal parking, canât really relax and feel safe when your car is parked road side or not proper space in hotel.

Eet10Hotel is brand new, used to be the old Copthorne. Nice n new. They are still doing quite a fair bit of touch ups... Many workers ard pool area, stairs etc. Staff are all very pleasant. Housekeeping was OK. On the last night, I doubt if they vacuumed the room, as the bits of leaves which was left the night before was still there. Toiletries were not complete, no body lotion or shaver or hand soaps at the wash basin. So... Had to make do with the bath gels provided
The shower area was long enough, but during and after showering, the water splashes out to the rest of bathroom. So pls ask for extra floor mats. .
Towels were nice n fluffy. Room was great... Spacious. We took a 3 person room, but it can have 4 people comfortably. Room view was nice (sea view) n quiet. Hanging clothes area was sufficient. The safe could have been placed higher, we were struggling to see what we left inside... Had to go on all 4s. Oh... The fridge was not cold. Didn't bother calling maintenance, coz we were leaving the next day.
Think the room can be improved like maybe garden chairs at the balcony, a drying area for swimsuits, extra floormat going to the balcony, maybe a small writing table for work. There is a table, n it was handy for the food we had, but not conducive as a work table.
The metal cups were really cute, however, after 1 cup of coffee or tea, it's stained really badly.
Overall was a great stay. Pool was very nice, staff were very pleasant. Attitude is 5 stars. Tq

AAnonymous UserReally love how clean the hotel and the room is. Furnitures in the bed room and bathroom area is so well maintained and super clean as if newly open. The bed is comfy with good aircon temperature. The water and drainage system works perfectly. The breakfast is good and the staff during the breakfast is very keen to help do the waffle.
The location is also great. I can walk out and face cute cafes and bars across the street. Around the block is the area full of historical buildings. The hotel is walkable to popular street like Armenian street, promenade and center of George town.
The only comment is it would be very good to have small sofa in the room next to the bed. With the non standard room type with more usable space, itâs better to add something extra to the room.
But overall is very good stay!

SSangeetthis hotel is good overall, but when we arrived, they told us that we didn't have a booking with them and they couldn't locate our booking and details. the room was also said to be taken, and they are waiting for a cancellation in order to get our room. There is a lot of confusion among staff. some visitors were told to leave their rooms once they have entered. we waiting 1 hr 30 min to get our room. so check in was at 4.30pm. parking was also very inconvenient, as we had to park at the basement, which was impossible to even get one if you came into the hotel late and a T&G card was also needed to get validated before leaving the hotel if we wanted a free spot. Room was very spacious and clean. the tea and coffee was hard like its never been changed.

The facilities are average.
I don't recommend the bar in the hotel as it's very expensive. Although there are discounts on accommodation, they are still very expensive.
