"Our stay this time was absolutely fantastic! We made a last-minute booking around 11 PM and arrived at the hotel past midnight. The Indian-American lady at the front desk was incredibly kind. Seeing that we were a family of four, she immediately informed us that the room type we booked online was unavailable. She promptly upgraded us to a larger room and arranged for housekeeping to bring an extra bed for my daughter. While we waited, she even offered my daughter a bottle of juice and reassured us not to worry. Once we got to the room, we realized she had given us a truly enormous room: it featured a super king-size bed, easily big enough for three adults, with ample distance between it and the added single bed. The bathroom was also massive."

"Limited facilities provided. Only a restaurant and some toys for kids. Breakfast was good and tasty. Staff can be more trained to provide better services. Had an experience that when the cleaner cleaned my room, he or she just put some unopened rubbish bags inside the rubbish bins and I have to open the bags and wrap it into the rubbish bin by myself. Front desk had also lost my registered parcel they collected for me."

"Facilities: The hotel is a residential building, the room is very small, and the aisle is narrow; there is no air conditioning, even if it is more than 10 degrees, the room can obviously feel hot (stay cautious in summer! ! !); there is still a walk distance of nearly half an hour from Oxford The advantage is that it has its own parking lot, but the entrance is a bit narrow and needs attention Hygiene: OK Environment: General Service: Very warm, the staff is very good In short, the service is nothing wrong; the room is too small and too hot, the facilities are old"

"Location: Facing the street, across the street is Queens College Stadium. Turn left when you go out and walk for 15 minutes to the gate of Christ Church College, which is a little far. Facilities: Because it is a small hotel converted from a residential building, the facilities are relatively simple and cannot be compared with big hotels."

"I stayed in an executive room, which was quite spacious. The room was very simple and comfortable. I needed to add a small table in the room for work, and the waiter was very quick to help me solve it. The breakfast was OK, the bread was good, but the breakfast did not change after staying for six or seven days. There was no air conditioning, but a small electric fan was provided. The temperature was quite high during the few days I stayed there, and the window in the room could be opened very small. So the room was stuffy, and even if the temperature outside dropped, the ventilation was not good, and the temperature in the room was still high. This was a bit unbearable."

"very nice boutique hotel with a good bar and restaurant below. The room nice, clean, minimalist but good furniture and decent shower. Only one complaint - if you are not a fan of capsule coffee (and I am definitely not) and you just want a cup of tea, it's a pain to have to google the coffee machine to work out how to use it when just a simple kettle would have been fine. Just 4 for the location because of the chaos at the Botley road bridge which is going on till this time next year at least! Lovely breakfast menu with good service."

"Breakfast is very good. The chef orders it now: omelet, shredded cheese, vegetables, mushrooms, etc. It's great. Other kinds of bread, fresh juice coffee tea. Meat has sausages, bacon. Peach apple, cantaloupe, pineapple and other fruits, a kind of Danone fruit yoghurt. All in all, including early value"

"The hotel's exterior is quite beautiful, lovely in both rain and sunshine. However, the room had quite a few small creatures – on the ceiling, in the bathtub, and even on the bed. I had made two separate bookings for the same room type, but the front desk informed me that I couldn't extend my stay in the same room and would have to move. I found this policy quite baffling. They claimed they wanted to minimize inconvenience and ensure everyone was satisfied, but where exactly is the satisfaction in this? And how is this helping us? Isn't this simply sacrificing our satisfaction for someone else's?"

GGuest UserWe were attending a wedding in Oxford and the city centre hotels were very expensive. The reviews for the Black Boy were good so we booked.  It was a joy to stay here and we had a fabulous weekend..  Great location - about 10 mins in taxi from centre and bus stop about 5 mins or so walk.  Buses went to the city centre and railway station.  The room was lovely, as were the welcoming staff.  Breakfasts were very good and the pub had a nice atmosphere and an outside garden area.  Would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Oxford.

PPHYO PHYO WAI YANG YINGWe absolutely enjoyed our 3 days 2 nights stay at the graduate hotel at Oxford. We booked 2 King room bedrooms for me&my husband & my son for 2 nights. I am a little worry about 24m2 size of the bedroom might be too small for us but upon arrival and check-in, the room is just nice, very cozy and warm and very Brtish atmosphere. The arrival hall is really pleasant, they have a small cozy bar for good whisky cider and some snacks. My husband & I enjoyed our drinks at the bar, we tried their British draught cider. For the breakfast, they reserve at very beautifully designed Alica restaurant just next to the reception. Very decent English buffet. Not too crowded and very enjoyable morning breakfast. The bed, pillow blankets are super comfortable and we had uninterrupted sleep throughout the night. The room temperature is just nice we set at 19-22 degrees. The bathroom is not spacious but just nice for 1 person. However the bathroom floor is alittle cold as the hotel did not provide slipper. The amenities are decent shampoo/bath gel/conditioner big bottle sizes with small soap though we prefer hand gel and hand lotion as it is cold weather. The room has a spacious corner for closet and luggage, that is very good for my husband and I. However there's only 1 chair for reading and the light/lamp are a little dim maybe we can call it cozy [ Brtish style ]. Pros- Fabulous location to all tourist attractions [ 5 - 10 mins walk ] Pros- Fabulous hotel with good hardware & software Pros- Restaurants & bar that open late and offer food and drinks late till 10pm Pros- Daily Housekeeping is very good Pros- Hotel offers on-site car parking service by the conceige at £48/per night , we paid £96 for 2 nights car parking, same price as London Cheval Pros- They only charge £1 for security deposit that's very unusual but we total appreciate it. 100% Happy & Satisfied with the stay

GGuest Userthe hotel is quite and in a lovely location . The rooms are nice very comfortable beds and bedding with spacious modern bathrooms. The room Ihad was unfortunately lacking a view as it was overlooking the aircon units . The front of house staff were excellent and went over and above to ensure I had a nice stay . The only downside I felt and feedback was that the bar /resturant area lacked any atmosphere the bar is unmanned there’s no encouragement to utilise the area and you feel that’s it not to be used so i often drank and ate elsewhere. hence the 4/5

GGuest UserIt’s not really a hotel, but more like a B&B with some hotel like features. Moving up the luggage to the room on the top floor was rather inconvenient although the receptionist,Alex, was very helpful. Breakfast was ok, but since there isn’t a restaurant in the accommodation, you’ll have to drive out to find food beyond breakfast. Besides the receptionist Alex, I didn’t quite get a warm feeling when we encountered the hosts, which is unusual given our experience in other cities in the UK so far. Other than that it was a pleasant stay.

GGuest UserThe talkhouse was a really homely accommodation right outside of Oxford. The room was exactly like the pictures. The staff were incredibly helpful and I must say the showers is probably one of the best I’ve had in the uk. (Proper water pressure, temperature and drainage so I’m not swimming in my own filth). Also have a drink or dinner at the pub, it’s seems to be a popular favourite amongst the locals as well. One thing to note for light sleepers, the rooms are side by side so you might hear your neighbours & it is right by the road so you’ll be able to hear vehicles at busier times.

GGuest UserFantastic place for a quiet stay within a 25-minute walk of Oxford city centre. The accommodation is clean, spacious, and well-maintained, making it a truly relaxing retreat. We had to be up early in the morning, but the location was very quiet. Mandy who assisted us with check in was incredibly professional and accommodating, going above and beyond to ensure a comfortable experience. Highly recommend this gem.

AAsiyah Yu LinThis hotel is just next to the Queen's Lane bus stop. Oxford Tube, and the mega bus stop there. Therefore it is very convenient to go out and into Oxford. It is close to the University as well. The only inconvenience is that there are steps everywhere, from the entrance to the reception, and to my room. This probably a general problem with old buildings in UK. Otherwise no other complains about the service. The bedding are very conformable - this is definitely a highlight.

GGuest UserThe house has a relatively large backyard, which can park several cars. Since we rented a car and drove around the UK, we had to find a yard where we could park. It is close to Oxford University and you can walk there. The surrounding environment is very quiet and the room is very clean. We are a family of three and three beds are very convenient.
