Genuinely, a place that looks like it’s been taken out of a movie. From arriving with hot towels and drinks, through to impeccable 1 on 1 service. To Exec Chef Justin taking care of our dietary requirements with utmost care. I have never experienced a place like this in all my life. Truly a one of a kind place. Kudos to the team at Hartford you all are doing amazing stuff. Cannot wait for the next visit.

Underwhelming on so many levels
Sadly did not live up to its reputation. Not all bad but the accumulation of things that didnt work, were broken, went wrong including the food, general service delivery and communication, overshadowed the good. List too long and varied to mention. We did address some issues with management - a few times - but this didnt change their behaviour over our 4 night stay so we eventually gave up. The issues not only impacted our stay, but also caused us significant stress and frustration. Disappointing as was suppose to be a Christmas treat for my 91 year old mother. This was our 12th hotel stay in 3 months in hotels ranging from 3 to 5 star luxury in various parts of the world - not once in any of these previous hotels did we have cause to complain to management.

The problem with Hartford is that, once you have been there, all other places pale into insignificance. Nothing can live up to the sheer joy of being there, experiencing the superb service, beautiful accommodation, great food and tranquility. We are always sad to leave and already looking forward to our next visit.

The perfect country escape for an urban dweller. Gorgeous rolling scenery, beautiful horses and cows! An absolute gem in the KZN Midlands, worth a stay at least once this lifetime.

A superb hotel. Amazing service levels. Friendly staff (within the hotel as well as on the farm). The property owner engages readily and we had interesting conversations with him.Superb decor. Bed linen best ever! Excellent food. It would be hard to improve on our experience!

A wonderful property to visit and the staff service is excellent. The degustation meal was very good with an excellent wine pairing. A perfect spot to celebrate a special occasion
