Countryside Suites Kansas City Independence I-70 East Sports Complex Hotel

It started with a blind search for this place. We had to get directions for it from the hotel next door. There is no name on the building. It gets worse. The first room that we were shown smelled like mildew. We were told by the owner/manager that it was "fine" that the building had been inspected and had passed. Do Not Argue with your paying guests. Period. The second room was fine. Not the best, but it is a budget hotel. AC worked, bed was okay, bathroom okay. The next morning, I woke to the sound of what I described to my fiancé as "Someone is peeing outside our door!" No. That would have been better than the entire ceiling of the bathroom leaking from the unit above us. Fiancé gets the manager/owner. "It's okay. I'll get some towels." The bathroom had a half inch of standing water. And it's raining in there. Nope. Get us another room. TWO HOURS later, and after fiancé had gone down to the room to see what the problem was-the maid was sitting on the bed, talking on her cell phone-we get in. Now we have no AC. Again, "It's okay, it'll get cold." When we get back at 10 pm that night, you guessed it! Not even close to having AC. Okay, it was a little cooler down on the floor. We left the next morning, not wanting to attempt another night in this h-hole. BTW-the bathroom in the second room was NASTY. From the shower head to the toilet not wanting to flush.

Four of us girls stayed here for an event at Arrowhead stadium July 2016. The hotel was about $100/night. I've stayed at Red Roof's before and many of them have been updated..apparently not this one. Our first room we walked in and there was still "#2" in the toilet and used hand towels on the sink. After moving us, our 2nd room had a burned out light, mold above shower, exposed wires/outlets, and no towel rack or clothes rack. Location was ok (right off interstate, 1 exit from stadium) and it provided a place to sleep & shower but needs some major maintenance.

This was one of the worst places I have stayed. Needs remodeling, staff was not friendly and seemed like a lot of suspicious activity all night long. I stay in a lot of Red Roof Inns that are great, but you should pass this one by.

Very friendly and hopeful clean place I would definitely come back I had to work come in and going throughout the day I wasn't worried about my things I'm very comfortable and there's so many things around us very convenient love the area I will come back

I asked staff for towels , they ignored me.

Minimal cost for minimal accomodations.
