It's located in a massive building; not very stylish, but functional. Inside, you enter a very attractive hotel lobby. Unfortunately, only later, after breakfast, did we discover that the hotel staff were talking very loudly and from a great distance. It was unbearable! Our room was very comfortable; the size was right, the furnishings were pleasant, and we particularly appreciated the large balcony. We could sit there and had a lovely view of a busy square in the middle of the city. Despite the traffic, we slept well at night. The beds were good, but there were other problems with sleep: the building is very thinly soundproof, and you can hear the water running through the walls. We ended up sleeping with earplugs in our ears. The location was good. It was 200 meters from the beach and 500 meters from the bus terminal. The breakfast was very extensive, but unfortunately, there were no Greek dishes, and the quality of the food available was very poor. The location of breakfast was also somewhat disappointing: We sat in the dim light of a very poorly lit room. Only in a small side room did we get a hint of Greek food and light, with Cretan jams, nuts, and dried fruit. Some Greek music would have been nice, too. Conclusion: The price is too high for the shortcomings, and it's also not a good choice for us because we like to explore different countries on our travels, and there's nothing at the Astrom that has a Greek character. This is certainly an upscale hotel, but with a bland, run-of-the-mill feel.
