The location is very good. You can walk to the beach to watch the fireworks on Friday night. There is a bus directly to the airport. The overall environment of the hotel is also very good. The outdoor swimming pool is beautiful. The front desk guy is very considerate and asked us where we were from and used Google Translate to communicate with us.

Waikiki is a relatively cost-effective choice, much cheaper than the nearby Hilton Resort. The only difference is that you have to walk a few more steps to the beach. The rooms are quite standard, but after staying in many hotels, I feel that the hotel rooms in Waikiki are similar, there is no big difference, so if you want to save money, this is still a good choice. By the way, you can only check in at 3 pm in Waikiki. If you want to check in early, you have to pay extra.

The room is generally acceptable, and the washing machine and dryer deserve praise. The location is perfect except that it is far from the beach. The price-performance ratio is average, not as good as the best, but better than the worst.

I have an issue with this hotel. The power went out. I use a medical device to sleep and I told him I cannot stay in the room to sleep first of all. There’s no air conditioner in Hawaii is very hot number two. I sleep with the medical CPAP machine, so I cannot sleep without that machine. How do they expect me to stay in this room? I checked out of the hotel they told me they would give me a full refund and now they are going back on their word and not refunding my money this is ridiculous.

Don’t expect much apart from the location.
They should not call their kids paddling pool as a swimming pool, charging resort fee for just providing chairs and umbrella for you to take them all the way, 10mins of walk to a public beach.

Location is super good, convenient to walk to anywhere in Waikiki. Valet parking staffs are great and kind of Japanese-style friendly, however the reception desk staff seemed always busy. Room is small and has a smell, maybe due to the oldness of the air conditioning and the building. You need to open the windows to ventilation every day. But the shower is incredibly good, like a hotel bathroom in Japan. Good and powerful water stream, feels like a waterfall and a hot spring. The shower is a huge plus, kind of the best in the US.

Melissa, Jessie and Mr Kalani were all amazing service providers! I had one of the best and most comfortable stays here thanks to them. They are always ready to accommodate and help! They usually start shift around the afternoon to evening time however! The facilities were all great too! Being able to have a microwave and an ice box as well as ask for extra amenities like toothbrushes and body lotion was never too tough a task. Also it is close to 2 big malls -, namely waikiki and international marketplace. It was within walking distance to other big brand names and one can easily join in the fun on the streets. The only downfall was the other customers and how thin the walls were - which meant noises and talking even in the middle of the night. But other than that, it was a great stay. Great for solo travellers too :)

This is definitely the most surprising hotel in Hawaii on this trip!
First of all, it has a great location, right in the center of Waikiki, with Intl MarketPlace, Waikiki restaurants and supermarkets downstairs, basically within a 10-minute walk. The internet celebrity vintage coffee is a two-minute walk away!
Secondly, unlike Sheraton and Marriott, it does not charge a deposit, which avoids possible refund issues! Although the deposits were returned promptly when I stayed at the other two hotels, this one avoided possible problems from the root.
Third, the room is very new. It should have been renovated in the past two years. Unlike the old-fashioned American hotels in my impression, it is decorated in a tropical style and is very clean! The area is also OK. The smallest room we booked is also large enough for a 28-inch suitcase to be spread out and laid flat.
Of course, since it is not on the beach, it definitely does not have a first-line sea view. Those who like to see the sea view should not come to this hotel. But the corresponding price is also relatively low (September 2000), and tourists who focus on cost-effectiveness can pay attention to it.
With a stay at Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Waikiki in Honolulu (Waikiki), you'll be within a 15-minute walk of Ala Moana Center and Hawaii Convention Center. This hotel is 0.9 mi (1.5 km) from Royal Hawaiian Center and 1.4 mi (2.3 km) from Waikiki Beach.

The room felt a little old and dated (ex. noisy old air conditioner) but was comfortable, spacious and in a convenient location with a nice view!
Paid extra for a parking space at about 28 dollars a day.
Front desk was very kind! Wouldn't mind staying there again.

Such a wonderful location. The hotel is a little older but rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff can't do enough for you. There are ABC stores all around for anything you may need. The lobby is beautiful. We didn't use the pool as we preferred to swim at the beach which is just across the road.

Outstanding
GGuest UserThe room is large, clean and comfortable, with complete configurations. Two sofa beds and a king-size bed meet the comfortable sleeping needs of a family of four. Water, laundry detergent, etc. are replenished in a timely manner every day. The service staff are also very enthusiastic. Although the room has a sea view, it is different from the previous order description. It is not a panoramic view. I don’t know if the introduction page is wrong or the room given is wrong.
MMeilihukanshijieThe hotel is in a great location, right in the middle of the commercial street, and it is very convenient to go shopping and eat. The beach is right outside the swimming pool area on the first floor of the hotel. The coastal restaurants on the first and second floors of the hotel have great views, so you have to wait for a table during dinner time.
The room is very large, and the king-size bed with sea view is very comfortable. It is also very pleasant to sit on the balcony and watch the sea.
JJordan NicholasOur recent stay at Hilton Vacation Club The Modern Honolulu was a blend of highs and lows, with its strengths balanced by a few notable drawbacks. Situated in a reasonably good location and boasting cleanliness throughout, the hotel offered convenience and comfort in many aspects with a great pool and bar area including a separate adults pool. However, certain factors detracted from the overall experience, leaving us with mixed feelings about our time there.
Let's start with the positives. The hotel's location, while not directly in the heart of the city hub, offered a decent compromise between convenience and tranquility. Close proximity to Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon provided easy access to beach activities and waterfront relaxation, adding a touch of serenity to our stay. Additionally, we found the hotel to be impeccably clean, with well-maintained facilities and a commi**ent to hygiene that was commendable.
Despite these strengths, there were some notable downsides to our experience. The most significant inconvenience was the walking distance to the main city hub, which required a 15-20 minute walk to reach popular attractions, dining establishments, and shopping venues. While not a dealbreaker, this added a layer of logistical planning to our daily activities and limited spontaneity.
Another issue that significantly impacted our stay was the persistent noise from the elevator. Unfortunately, our room was located close to the elevator, resulting in constant disturbances throughout the day and night. The loud mechanical noises disrupted our sleep and detracted from the overall ambiance of relaxation that we had hoped for.
In summary, Hilton Vacation Club The Modern Honolulu offered a mix of positives and negatives during our stay. While the hotel's cleanliness and proximity to Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon were definite highlights, the walking distance from the city hub, the disruptive elevator noise, and having to pay for hotel parking detracted from the overall experience.
GGuest UserWe had such a great time couple days the winds were high, but we didn’t let that spoil our vacation. The sun was out that’s the most important thing in the temperature was in the 70s and 80s and so perfect for people from Seattle Washington rainbows you know it’s a tropical area so the rainbows appear in the sky just so beautiful fireworks on Friday night was outstanding. Looks like all of Waikiki came to look And we stayed in the Tapa building and ocean view just outstanding. The restaurants to Bali was fabulous. The restaurants are on the street level was fantastic and we walked around the city and experience various type of cuisine. This is an outstanding vacation seven days and my wife and I are so glad that we have mobility and at our age so we could really enjoy the beach. Enjoy the catamaran enjoy just walking around the city shopping and so just outstanding. We look forward to another vacation like that.
EevangelinexxThe room is very big, the service staff are very enthusiastic, the hotel has a kettle, which is the only hotel with a kettle in our Hawaii trip. The price of the hotel including breakfast is also very good, and the high-rise mountain view room has an unbeatable mountain view! Recommended
JJUANJapanese hotel, we arrived late and helped me upgrade to the suite. The house is large enough to cook. There is a swimming pool. At night the water is a bit cold. You can soak in the heated swimming pool. When booking, it is stated that there is no resort fee. Late in Hawaii is very cheap. After we check out, we can see that the price has risen to more than 1,000 a night.
FFlo RetaReview and rating solely based on our one night stay. High on convenience because our flight arrived late so rental cars were closed. It’s a few minutes (about 5) from airport where we needed to get our car next day. At the outset of entering there’s taped off area in lobby like work being done and a bit pungent smell that gives you an off the bat impression. Friendly receptionist. Room was not very likable as sheets felt and smelled too starchy it was uncomfortable to sleep in. Beds (two twins) felt old and somewhat lumpy. Shuttle does run on the hour til 12:30am and we were lucky to catch the last one and to get back to airport next morning. In conclusion, it met our convenience needs but way overpriced for the subpar room accommodation (174$ total).
GGuest UserUhhhhh..... We stayed in this hotel because our flight got in late and we needed a place close to the airport to crash for one night. This hotel fits that purpose well. That said, I wouldn't recommend this hotel for any other situation other than the one I just described. They were pumping sewage right outside of our door the morning we woke up. Also, our room key didn't work the morning we were checking out. The only other positive of this hotel is that it is within walking distance of THE BEST little food place we came across on our whole trip: Joe's Grill Express. We cannot wait to come back so we can visit Joe's again.
JJoseph St. EsparzaStaff friendly and helpful. I had trouble booking online rate, one of the staff indicated that gave a discount for Ex-military/Military, assisted and booked the room for 3 more nites. Service was very good. Extra towels available and amenities provided as needed. Location was great, walking distance to the beach, restaurants and more.
GGuest UserThere is a main building and an annex, but the annex is really bad, and if you stay in the main building, the cost-effectiveness is really good! I stayed for 3 nights and stayed in the annex on the first day and was so depressed that I paid extra money to upgrade my room to the main building, and I was very satisfied! And it's very noisy because it's a downtown area, so take that into consideration! This is a picture of the bathroom when I stayed in the annex, but there was no ventilation and no lighting in the shower cubicle.. It was poor. Compare it with the pictures of the main building!
Many people travel to Honolulu Safeway for a family road trip during the summer or long holidays. Coconut Waikiki Hotel, Manoa Valley Inn and Waikiki Monarch Hotel are popular hotels with pools where you can relax and enjoy the summer vibe.
