Very Good
GGeorjina ChiaPukyo is a 5-room B&B run by David who is a very friendly and helpful host. We got a room on the ground floor which was excellent for my husband who does not walk well let alone climb stairs. It was a big family room with a king-sized double bed and 2 singles. There is an ensuite bathroom with a very good hot-water heater. The bathroom floor gets wet and slippery after the shower but there is an anti-slip mat and Daivd knows about the problem which he is going to fix this summer. The aircon is very powerful and there's also a wall fan as an option. There's also a small TV but we did not use it. The B&B is about 4 min from the airport and less than 10 from town. David will take you to town for dinner in his comfortable van and wait for you. He very kindly bought dinner back for us the 2nd night as my husband was too tired to go out. There's a fridge stocked with beers and drinks and a water dispenser in the living area. We had wonderful chats with David who is a great font of knowledge and felt like we were staying with a friend rather than a commercial lodging. There are mosquitoes in the evening but David sells lemongrass -scented repellent for 11,000LAK - very effective also for outdoor tours. David has a outdoor seating area at the back and it's a very peaceful and pleasant place for breakfast or a beer at sundown. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with David.

TTriceratops 616719I didn't know the situation in Phonsavan at all, so I chose it because of the price and the image of the photo.
I think I was right after all. As for the location, it's hard to find at first, but once you get used to it, you'll find that it's only a few dozen meters away from the main street in the center of town.
Above all, the environment is very quiet. At dawn, you can wake up to the crowing of free-ranging chickens on the neighboring farmland.
The manager is kind and has arranged some tours of the Phonsavan area.
