Casa Del Mar Master

We have been visiting the Hollywood Beach area for over 20 years and this was by far our worst experience. Speaking specifically of Casa Del Mar Unit 5, the Unit was unkept and deserves a good cleaning. Mold on the outside of the building specifically Unit 5, mold in the bathroom showers and around the kitchen sink area. We attempted to use the oven and while it was preheating it had a dangerous gas smell so we didn’t use. Top of the refrigerator was disgusting and obviously had not been wiped down in a very long time. Essentials provided were limited to one roll of toilet paper per bathroom, kitchen trash can that was one foot tall with one trash bag and one roll of paper towels for an 8 night stay. WiFi was spotty at best. The gate to enter Unit 5 would not open without scraping the concrete, force and lifting up on the gate. The main power lines from the street laid dangerously across the metal structure in the private courtyard in Unit 5. One perk to Unit 5 was the private courtyard area separate from the shared public area. Unfortunately the area had not been maintained and appeared to have become the dumping ground for sand toys and deflated rafts left behind by previous guest, dead fallen palms, broken lounge chairs, old discarded patio umbrella, and empty paint cans. While some of this could be over looked, our disappointment escalated and became very ugly when we contacted the property manager about getting a refresh on towels, essentials and where to put our trash because the dumpster had been overflowing since we arrived. She became very defensive, unprofessional and stated in text messages we would be sued for leaving a negative review. We received no instructions to answer any of our simple questions although she declared otherwise. We have never encountered such an experience. We have text messages and photos to support our unfortunate experience. We would recommend avoiding Unit 5 at Casa Del Mar and honestly avoiding any properties managed by the same company based on the unprofessional conduct of the manager.

Good it’s quiet and close to the beach so that’s awesome landlord was easy to deal with so the next time we are renting, we are gonna rent from this landlord. Also, we have a grill outside around the back so that was awesome as well. You can grill and chill.

Lovely apartment with everything you need for the beach and everyday cooking. It is not newly renovated. Some things needs a bit of repair such as the kitchen sink garbage disposal unit (which started leaking while we stayed there) and the faulty recessed light in the shower of the master’s bathroom. Other than that, it is really nice. The big courtyard with the BBQ, seatings and the cute waterfall is really nice. Beds are huge but their confort is ok. About a 2 minutes walk to the beach and broadwalk. The apartment is not located near the crowded hotels and restaurants on the broadwalk so it is very peaceful but still a walkable distance to everything. We recommend!

The premises were inviting and clean. Every staff person we met was friendly and helpful. Coffee and danishes in the mornings were sufficient. (Our only concern was security. There is a side door to the street that we passed frequently to get to the beach, and twice we found it open/unlocked). The free trolley was very convenient in getting around!

Awesome stay, a lovely location, it is amazing, and the host is very accommodating! The room came stocked with everything you need to vacation and a day at the beach! Highly recommend this boutique hotel!
