I stayed at this hotel to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday.
I wanted a birthday cake to be delivered to the hotel, so I emailed them, but they replied quickly, which put my mind at ease.
The staff were also kind.
The hotel was the best I've ever stayed at.
The room was spacious and had a relaxing wooden design, and the open-air bath was the best part.
They brought it to our room in the morning, so we could enjoy it at our own pace. The croissants were crisp and the fruit was fresh and delicious.
I'll recommend this hotel to my friends.

Everything was wonderful! The spacious room , the beautiful private onsen , access to the Keith Haring Museum , the courteous and professional staff …. We decided to take this trip at the spur of the moment and it was totally worth it !!! We hope to go back again in the fall.

We stayed at Keyforest for two nights, as part of a trip to the nearby Hakushu distillery. We did not know what to expect, as this was our first foray outside the major cities in Japan. To our very pleasant surprise, this turned out to be one of the best hotels we've ever stayed in (and we've stayed in some really great ones). The rooms were gorgeous and big, with amazing views of the surrounding mountains. We thoroughly enjoyed the on-site whiskey bar. The staff was very accommodating; when we wanted a different restaurant for our second night, they just drove us there and back. And we loved the private hot springs / spa area, maybe three minutes walk from the hotel itself. Then there's the Keith Haring Museum next door - took us about 30 minutes to go through, with a lot of cool artwork. Super great experience, we would love to go back!
