Tomo Safari Lodge

This was our first safari and it was fantastic. All the staff at Tomo were brilliant. Super helpful and efficient. Special mention to Angel who was so friendly and looked after us so well. The lodge was clean and comfortable. The food was a highlight and it was all delicious. Our guide for our game drives was Jessica. She was great at finding animals but also sharing her knowledge about the birds, plants and the whole environment. We enjoyed every game drive and were so lucky to see so many beautiful animals. I had wanted to do a safari for a long time and this was just how I imagined it would be.

I stayed at Tomo for 4 nights, and it far exceeded all my expectations. The lodge is absolutely stunning, and the room was very bright, open and gorgeous. The food was incredible! But the best part was the staff. It really felt like being home with your family. Our guide was Tanya and she was the best! We learned so much from her and felt like we’d been friends forever. I also did the walking safari with Tanya and Garett, and they were so wonderful! If I’m ever back in Hoedspruit, I’ll definitely stay at Tomo.

From the moment we were picked up from the airport to the moment we left, our time at Tomo was nothing short of magical. Tomo completely exceeded any expectations we had. The lodge is stunning and feels like the perfect balance between luxury and being totally immersed in the African safari. Large comfortable rooms with a private terrace and even an outdoor shower, so cool! Lots of lovely little touches, we especially loved our personalised water bottles.. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, they made everything so easy it was great to learn so much about them during our stay. The game drives with Gareth were exceptional, he has so much passion for what he does and it shines through during those hours. Every drive we had a wave of excitement of what we may see, such a high! My partner and I were also lucky enough to have our own private safari with Gareth one morning and it was really special, encountering elephants and rhino up close was breathtaking. Unfortunately we didn't manage to see the lions we had been tracking, but it certainly didn't take away from our experience and we saw so much! Stopping in the wild for a morning coffee and a sundowner was a real highlight, surrounded by elephants while sipping wine what more could you want. The surroundings are so peaceful and beautiful I loved sitting and watching the world go by. We even saw monkeys and elephant around the watering hole by the lodge, incredible! The food was excellent and they catered for my partners gluten intolerance throughout our stay. We absolutely loved our stay at Tomo and haven't stopped talking about it since, we cannot wait to come back one day!

We had the absolute best vacation of our entire lives at Tomo celebrating our 10-year anniversary! Every single thing about the experience was incredible- from the warm welcome, beautiful room (highly recommend Jackal Berry!) and scenery, amazing game drives with Garretth, delicious food prepared by the chefs, and 10/10 costumer service and just overall kindness and care by the team. You can tell it’s a special place and it made our vacation from the States one that we’ll never forget. Thank you to owners, management, guides, waitstaff, chefs, housekeepers, maintenance and everyone at Tomo for making our trip so special.

Wonderful stay, great staf. This place is a piece of heaven on earth. We found new friends and great people. Our ranger Sabre, her explanations about nature and wildlife, about this beautiful place called Kruger, all the animal that we saw, it was an amazing experience. Also Preatty and all the staf at the lodge, fantastic! They make you feel at home. I left with tears in my eyes and as soon as it is possible, I will be back! Thank you Tomo for a unforgettable holiday!
