I don't revel writing this review. I stayed here with my family for several nights in December 2019. It was an awful experience. Unfortunately, the hosts -- whose names I believe are Ruby, and someone else named Kevin who emailed us -- are just not ready to put in the work and/or expense to host guests at their properties. They were not responsive to our concerns about cleanliness or the lack thereof. The apartment, which had high end fixtures, was dirty. Upon arrival late at night, we were first struck by the beautiful city view. The excitement soon faded when we noted the smell of urine in the front bathroom and that the A/C in the living room did not work. We spent 30 minutes cleaning around the toilet until the smell dissipated. We had to climb up onto a chair to turn off the A/C which was blowing hot air as there was no remote. While daily cleaning services are indicated, the housekeeper did not want to clean. She preferred to drop off towels and bottled water, minimally clean, and depart shortly thereafter. She was annoyed when we asked her to sweep to get rid of the two inches of dust bunnies, hair, and old pills that had accumulated under the beds, dressers, curtains, couch, corners, and tables. There was a pervasive smell of mildew every time we opened a drawer or cabinet. The furniture, which was white laminate, had black scuff and crayon marks on almost every surface. The white kitchen counters were also stained. All of the bathroom vents had black lint in the grates. The shower caulking was black in the bottom corners. The washer/dryer on the balcony wreaked of mildew/mold when opened. When we requested hangers to hang our clothes, we received 10 mismatched dirty plastic hangers. The stove hood was so filthy, that after I swiped it the ensuing black tar-like mark on my finger only came off by scrubbing it with soap and water. Again, we had to clean the hood ourselves since the maid noted she could not reach it. Also: all the glass surfaces were streaked, there were finger prints and marks on the white walls, there is no coffee maker, no microwave, and hardly any pots and pans or silverware/kitchen utensils in the kitchen. In addition, the apartment advertises a pool. What they don't tell you is that you will have to give passport copies and finger prints, which will take two days to process with building management (not the hosts). We quickly realized that it was just not worth it. I note that (oddly) there are a number of good reviews for this place on multiple sites with the same canned response from the company. I question their veracity as there is just no way that our apartment was an exception. It was just too neglected. It is my sincere hope that this review will force the company to immediately deep clean their apartments, and if it does not, I would stay away. In conclusion, I would say that Ho Chi Minh is known to have more expensive accommodations. If you are a family who is coming to visit f
