Marie-Line Hotel

Located in the heart of the city, this hotel provides friendly staff and excellent customer service. However, guests have reported issues with room size, noise disturbances, and inadequate room conditions.

Truthfully, didn't stay. 1. There was No elevator. The youngest of our group (age 14) could not carry her suitcase up four flights of stairs. The eldest of our group found it difficult to climb five flights of stairs. 2. There was No fire escape. At least, there were no signs of a fire escape. 3. There was No return of full payment for two nights ... so avoid paying until you see the property. 4. There was the Classic "blame the customer" reaction by the person in charge - there is a fire escape you just have to climb up to the rooftop to access it. ***. And there are still no signs saying where the fire escape is. And the same person said if you wanted an elevator you have to look for a facility that has an elevator. I can understand losing one night of pre-payment but two nights? There were two pluses at this hotel, however. 1. The person on the door was willing to carry the youngest's suitcase up four floors to the third floor. And 2. despite being on a loud party Street (we arrived just after midnight) ... The raucous noise on the street below did not carry to the back rooms. As a former senior instructor on Hospitality Management in Canada I found the attitude of the person in charge - at the end of a telephone line - unacceptable. The person on site was not capable of having that conversation with me in English so he passed me over to and unidentified person at the other end of a phone line. But regardless of the "fault" of the person booking the room in the first place ... there is no excuse for not having signage as to what to do in the case of a fire. And extracting two nights payment for a service that was not provided? Not good for business! Beware!
