Indochine Ben Thanh Hotel & Apartments

Everything is good except the AC a bit weak…inside the room was a bit warm

Comfortable beds but pretty cramped in total room space. Has good water pressure. Not well sound proofed. Overall, location was fantastic and easy 3 min walk to local markets and has great coffee shops just in front.

We originally paid for a room with a balcony but was told the room had an issue with the toilet. Yet we met the person that was actually staying in the room. It's literally across the road from Ben Than market. We were given the room we booked the next night. It had a kitchen yet the list of rules in the room stated. Do not use the kitchen. Staff were nice

I hate to give this hotel a bad review as it is a good hotel and with a prefect location, but when i arrived i asked the for a quiet room as i sleep very late everyday and they assured me that the room 301 was very quiet. Far from it as the very next day at 6:30 in the morning and almost for two weeks the noise from above was unbearable. I report the noise many times but since they had construction going on and they could not stop. The front desk girls and the guys at night were extremely friendly and understanding, they tried so hard to make my stay pleasant, but to no avail. I also found 10, correct 10 big cockroaches in my room. Beside that, the room was pretty big with a small kitchenette. Nice firm bed with good pillows.

This hotel puts you in the center of activity. Short walk to famous Ben Thanh Market. on the same blocks there are several stores selling from shoes, to backpacks, to jackets. You might not need to step inside Ben Thanh Market if you don't. The room is sound proof because even on New Year's Eve with all the scooters that pulled up across the street and parked I did not hear anything. So it's very quiet. The city view that is mentioned I never experienced because I was on the first floor and all I could see are retail stores and a jewelry store across the street. BTW you can exchange currency at the jewelry store. You get a great rate. I exchanged a $100 bill there. My Vietnamese friend told me they will change it for me. So no need to go to a money exchange down the block to stand on line. The hotel website mentioned a private entrance to my room. I only had access to my room through the hotel lobby then up the elevator. You get the impression this is a spacious building yet it's not. I thought maybe I could see fireworks from my window but that was only a pipedream. There is no breakfast served but there are several places in the area where you can eat breakfast. One is Nick's Cafe, an American style cafe with 1950s music playing. If it's your first time there the staff will walk you through the menu. It's about 8-minute walk to the cafe. About the one positive the young staff working at the desk was nice to speak to. Other than that the city view and private entrance mentioned never materialized. I think the hotel should just state the facts without exaggerating details.
