Ww stayed at the bank house for 1 week. Very warm welcome from our host, made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. The rooms were lovely and big with beautiful views of the river Tweed. Would definitely stay again.

Excellent, the room was spacious, very comfortable bed and small details ( ear plugs, great choice teas and coffee) really added the personal touch. Owner, Donna is super friendly and couldn't do enough for us, it was like staying with friends without being intrusive.Lovely breakfast with good quality food and lots of it. The property is beautifully presented and central to everything, 100% would recommend!!

Stayed here on a Monday, first night of walking the Borders Abbeys Way. The Bank is easy enough to find though not obviously a guest house as there is no signage - you have to ring the bell and wait for someone to open it. A great welcome from host Donna, who appears to be running the enterprise single-handedly, so all credit to her. Inside, it's an interesting, if a little quirky, conversion. My room was clean and comfortable, though a little poky. Conversely, my bathroom (a separate room on the other side of a (private) corridor, was absolutely massive. So I kept my case in there for easy access to it as the bedroom itself didn't have enough space for it to sit open. Saying that, no real complaints about the room and the overall project is a work in progress, but obviously that will take time. Plenty of choice for breakfast though we had something simple as we wanted to get away quickly. The breakfast room decor was a little different, quirky again, but we had no issues with it. The juke box is not something I've ever had at breakfast before, but it had some great tunes. Overall, I'd recommend the Bank especially if you are into things that are a little bit different.

We had booked into another property through a holiday booking company but when we contacted the owner of the property on the day we were travelling to let them know our arrival time they said they weren't expecting us. Later that day after several phone calls back and forth we got a story from the owner about some of her other guests wanting to extend their stay in the rooms we had booked in the other property and we were being moved to Bank Guest House. Sorry, if you take a booking you don't let other people just decide to extend their stay. (Was this a cock and bull story?) Several times we were told this was an upgrade but to be honest it didn't feel like one. My particular room had two double beds in it and an assortment of furniture which included a rocking chair in the alcove. The bathroom was on a different landing across the stairs. Not really what you want in this day and age and especially as this was two blokes who would definitely hit the town for a few pints that night. Both sets of beds had bedside cabinets but only one side of the room had bedside lamps. There was a TV, fridge and microwave in the room so that suggests they're happy for you to take food into your room. I really can't visualise a scenario where two double beds are required but maybe I'm missing something here? One big positive was the view from the rocking chair window of the River Tweed rolling past and the rear garden which was lovely. Its described as a guest house when to my mind it should be described as a hostel. We didn't book here in the first place because we didn't like the look of it and having stopped there, albeit, for only one night our opinion hasn't changed. We won't be back to stop there but Coldstream itself was very friendly where people actually stop to say hello or ask what you're up to. All in all it didn't ruin our trip to Scotland and we can make do and mend but it wasn't what we wanted. The poor reviews imho are justified.

It was an absolute pleasure to stay at The Bank Guest House - my word, the host was an amazing lady, who was so attentive. The room was beautiful, comfortable and clean. The breakfast was also fantastic. It made our stay for a very sad event special.

We used The Bank Guest House as a central base for a motorcycle tour and stayed for 4 nights (Monday to Friday) We were welcomed by Donna, and I immediately felt at home. The room was beautifully presented and well appointed. The bed was particularly comfortable my room felt like a home from home. The breakfast was very very good and always freshly cooked.
