Machaan Plantation Resort, Sakleshpur
4.4/566 Reviews
Excellent location, beautiful gardens, scenic views and large neat rooms. The food was tasty with a decent spread to offer for the two days we spent here. Blessed by good weather, we had an excellent holiday with friends here. The naturists at the resort were very hospitable and friendly, offered to take us for bird watch and night walk to spot frogs, however we could only join them for an early morning hike to near by mountain. Food highlights cream of tomato, manchow soup, red rice pundi, prawn ghee roast, nee r dosa, gut-hi brinjal, pasta, pane-er achari tikka, custard, rasam, onion pakoda and many more.

How shall we celebrate this new years eve? My wife, I and our 5 year old son Arth. Shall we stay home, go to a friend's place or just go out to a nice restaurant? We decided to make a last minute decision to go to Sakleshpur based on a few friends who said this would be a good choice. We reached the property in 4 hours from Bengaluru and were immediately taken in by the grandness and warmth of the welcome. We'd requested for an early check-in and the team obliged - it being the busiest day of the year. Over the next 2.5 days, we played in the kids play area, played our way through the activity centre's well-kept amenities and took walks through the 100 acre forest that is the property. One morning, Arth and I enjoyed an art and craft class by Mary and we also learnt some towel art while the wife was busy getting pampered at the spa (which we pre-booked; superb decision). The next afternoon we lazed in the infinity pool by the pond and enjoyed a refreshing beverage in the pool bar. The food requires its own review. Executive chef Gobu, managers Amit, Praveen and their teams were the epitome of genuine empathetic service. May I say that this may be one of the best spreads I may have ever seen. Just delightful! On new years eve, there was a gala night on an open lawn (or shall I say lawwwwn) with decor fit for a wedding and food and beverage service for two. A live band that was just right for the crowd. Followed by an indoors DJ close to midnight. A champagne service for all guests and we counted down to 2025. Our son's first new year's eve celebration and one to remember. I'd be remiss if I didn't acknowledge Gobu for his hospitality, the graceful Maan, Partel, Sora and Adesh who made us feel like home, the many buggy drivers who never refused a trip even though they were definitely headed somewhere else, omnipresent Amit, Praveen for service, Anushree for that welcome and making Arth feel special, Mary for her silent management of the kids at the activity centre. If you're wondering if the tariff delivers value, it does and then a little more. We'll be back soon!
Mallige Residency

I was on a vacation trip to Sakleshpur and stayed at “ Mallige Residency ”, Hassan for 2 nights . The idea to stay at Hassan was due to the fact it was equidistant from Belur, Halebeedu and Tourist spots of Sakleshpura. The reservations were done ahead of time Mr Puroshattam confirmed the booking on phone. The staff was prompt in addressing the queries of the reservation. Since we were a family of 4, so we needed 2 rooms . They provided us 2 rooms with road view and the best part was that , the rooms were connected rooms. The rooms were well made, with a Queen size bed, work/study table chair and a relaxing chair with a center table.. Well decorated lighting in the room made the room very cozy. In the room they had also provided a electric kettle and complimentary tea sachets, and water bottles. The room had AC as well as a TV with Tata sky working with it, though we never really used the TV. The bathroom was well done. Clean and with separate shower area with running hot/cold water . Our package also had complimentary breakfast which is organized in a separate area . The breakfast was wholesome and had a good spread , with breakfast items, like Bread, Eggs, Omlet, Idli, Vada, Dosa, Khara bhat , Kesri bhat, Tea Coffe and Juice. There is an attached restaurant with the hotel called Parijata, and we ordered dinner in our room from the restaurant. There is also a live-snacks counter attached to the hotel. They had a dedicated parking area for cars. Overall a good experience.
Palguni Residency

Easy to locate on the main road, have their own basement parking (although only about 10 odd cars can be accommodated here. Smooth & fast check-in, no special formalities were needed, except an entry into their register. Property seems to be new, very clean room, corridors, lobby area as well as restaurant. We had a very good greenery view from 3rd floor room, with a nice breeze in the evening (if windows are opened, for fresh air. Food in the on-suite restaurant was tasty (not very spicy, with efficient timely service through the day. In-spite of the hotel being packed, room service was also quick. Overall a peaceful stay in hassan, highly recommended for fellow travellers.

Except the part that we really couldn't find the hotel at 11:45 pm, rooms are hygienic, staff are good. It would be better if they put a big board/proper lighting so that it's identifiable at dark
The Pearl

I went to Hassan for a business trip. I stayed at the pearl for 1 night only. Overall it was a good experience to stay there. Location: It was hard to find the location. I asked locals for the Pearl but no one knew about it. The Pearl was earlier known as 'The Southern Star' Hotel. They haven't changed the Neon sign above their building. After crossing the building twice, I searched for pics and saw the same building for the Southern Star and Pearl. At check-in, I came to know that they had changed their name in December 2022. They are still in process of changing their name everywhere. Room: Rooms are spacious, clean, and well-lit. The toilet was clean too. Wi-Fi is ok. The mini fridge was empty and over priced snacks are there too. Service: My room had electricity issues so I asked them to fix it. They came in a minute and were polite. Food: The breakfast costs 200 pax. I didn't pay for that so I wouldn't comment on it. Overall: They need to change their terrace neon sign immediately. Otherwise, it was a good experience.
