The Goodlife Guesthouse

We stayed here for a visit to the festival of wheels. Not sure what we expected to find from the outside, but what a pleasant surprise. Spacious and comfortable rooms, with a dining area and accessible fridge. Made to order breakfast available in the morning, or simply use the amenities provided to feed yourself. We will definitely return.

The worst noises experience ever. People drunk and shouting outside, cars and dogs barking - as if then are in the room. Doors closing very load throughout the night. Unable to sleep most of the night. £86 for a terrible night's sleep. You maybe better off sleeping in your car seriously.

Found this place totally by fluke when trying to find a cheap and cheerful place to stay for a night. I called ahead to ask about parking and was advised of the private car park opposite. Katie who greeted us at reception was really friendly and helpful. She actually showed us to our room which is a first for us having stayed in many hotels over the last 2 years. She also told us some history on the place and about boat trips to Felixstowe. The room was in the basement and had no window but it was what you would expect for a cheap hotel. It could have done with a bit of an airing and there was a ball of someone’s hair behind the door but the shower room was clean, so was the bed linen.
