Only a short drive from Harrogate, this little gem of a B&B was ideal for us. We stayed in the double room, at the top of the shop, in the roof. It has been well convrerted into a pleasant airy room with windows to the East and West. Despite being there in mid November, the views to the West through the amazing windows were over a large swathe of Nidderdale. We weren't in our room at sunset (because it was November and the sun set at about 4.30 pm) but my guess is that during the summer months the views would be awesome. The service we received was friendly, polite and welcoming. The staff were only too happy to help. Breakfast is served in the café downstairs and is enhanced by non B&B customers coming in for their breakfast food and drink. It's really pleasant to see the variety of people coming and going at around 9 to 10 in the morning. The breakfasts were cooked while we waited and were well worth the wait. They were hot, well cooked and well presented, by Steve. Although Sophie wasn't in the café when we were at breakfast she came and spoke to us when she arrived. She was most attentive and assured us that if there was anything we needed, we only had to ask. There was nothing, everything we needed was there. She was also really helpful in providing information about local cycling routes for me to pass on to my cycling friends. Because we are tea drinkers, there were more teabags left for us on our return for our second nights stay than for the first night. We were also able to view The Shepherds Hut, which is at the bottom of the garden. It looks like a wonderful spot to be to watch the sun sett over the far hills. We would seriously recommend Sophie's B&B.
