Fountains Guest House - Harrogate Stays

Lovely place to stay. Very central and close to the town centre. Unless you have mobility needs, you will easily be able to walk into town for food and drinks. Very clean and comfortable. The decor is modern and kept fresh. The accommodation is very organised and we received a very helpful text prior to arrival that gave us everything we needed to know about parking and gaining access to our room. The breakfast was really tasty and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The coffee for breakfast was decent, and the sausages were amazing. We’d love to know where they are from! As a pair of hopeless introverts, we loved the fact you don’t have to interact with anyone to check in. You just use the code provided on the smart locks. We were very much a fan of this. The only slight, and probably unavoidable, annoyance was our room was next to the overflow breakfast area. It was quite noisy on the Sunday. We’d planned a lie in as a rare treat that morning, which was scuppered. But that was probably just a one-off problem with that particular room on that particular morning. Hence why we still gave the full five stars. We would definitely stay here again!

Very well run business. Easy to check in with clear instructions texted to me. Room had everything you need and was really good value for money. Breakfast was excellent, lots of choice for hot and cold food and the staff were lovely, friendly and helpful

Parking in car park is for 5 cars if not disks in hallway for those needing to park on road. Room was bright and light with a lovely big window and bathroom was very nice and clean with soap and shampoo etc. downside of the room is that the curtains let all the light through them and we are both people who prefer blackout blinds so it didn’t provide us with the best sleep. Mattresses definitely need changed as you can tell they’ve had a lot of use or it’s not that good quality. The bedding is also very noisy so you hear every movement. Cold water tap in bathroom ran hot for about 2 minutes before you can get any cold which is annoying, however shower is lovely. Annoyingly there was No full length mirror in the room. Breakfast was ok with a select few cereals and yogurts. No fresh fruit is available which is annoying and yes I did ask. They seem to focus more on cooked breakfast. Guests staying in the same place need to be reminded of being quiet first thing in the morning or late at night as in the apartment 2 floors below kept us awake one night and two out of 3 mornings we were awoken at 7am by noisy guests talking. Only major positive was that it is in excellent walking distance of the centre for food and shops. The lady who served us breakfast was also very friendly.

Room very clean, comfortable bed, Shower absolutely superb. Bed linen and towels spotless. Good selection of complimentary beverages with fresh milk available. Great breakfast cooked to order. Brilliant location, a short stroll into town. Quiet area. Staff really friendly. On the downside, pillows need replacing, radiator in bathroom was leaking so slightly musty smell. Decoration and furnishings in room 2 somewhat tired and could do with a refresh/modernisation. Would still recommend as a great base for exploring Harrogate.

Fabulous small hotel within easy stroll to all attractions. Beautifully kept, spotlessly clean and a real feeling of luxury. Breakfast is perfect in every way. Plentiful parking either on site or in side streets. There is a garden with furniture to enjoy late summer sunshine. Very quiet location. I wish that I could have stayed longer.

Cannot rate this place enough. Great location, short walk into town passing a few great bars. Christie's one to visit. The room was immaculate and beautifully decorated. Lovely bed, pillows and duvet. Great shower with lovely shower gels and shampoo. Lovely toiletries and lovely selection of refreshments in the room. Lovely Border biscuits. Parking which was free. Breakfast was absolutely beautiful. There was a lovely selection of cereals and a great choice of hot food made to order. The best guest house we have stayed in and for visiting Harrogate would definitely be returning and recommend to anyone else.

Fantastic. The location is quiet. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The shower is out of this world. A delicious, made-to-order breakfast is available at 0800. The staff is so kind and generous. The entrance is secure and has a cypher lock for access. The location is within walking distance of all the restaurants, shops, and cafes in Harrogate. The price is excellent, and we will recommend this accommodation to all our family and friends visiting Harrogate.

Not for us – Room was dusty and tea stained on arrival. Owners do not live on site, keypad entry. No heating or hot water one night for a few hours so had to shower in another room, fortunately it wasn’t the night before as the guest house was full. Breakfast was delicious and Sue, James and Sid looked after us extremely well.

From the easy online booking process via the clear, welcoming arrival instructions, including a whatsaap message on the day, to the friendly helpful staff this was a great short break. The Fountains is a short walk into town but still in a quiet area near the Conference centre. There is a small car park but also a supply of daily parking vouchers for the immediate area available in the hall. The property has electronic front and room door locks so no need of manual check in and the room we had was modern and decorated to a high standard. Small details are well catered for even to the extent of having flasks of fresh milk in the lounge fridge for each room rather than inadequate UHT sachets. Breakfast was cooked fresh to order and the staff were helpful and friendly especially with my wife's dietary requirements. A great find for us.
