Disappointed😞😞😞 Was so looking forward to this, but expectations not met. More like a Motel. Beds were chaise longue style, restricting length. Toilet constantly running, asked for it to be fixed, but told it just takes time to fill (over half hour by then!) We had to unscrew and access cistern every time used to stop the issue. The shower head leaked at the bottom, with water spraying out. Sink push plug came away. Sink also took ages to drain. Toilet roll holder broke when changing the roll. Advised all on check out and was not a surprise to them! Towels were clearly old, somewhat threadbare and small. At least the teabags were Yorkshire Tea! & a decent biscuit given! Just won't be back.

a friend and I booked a couple of rooms as we had an evening at Ripon Races . A really well maintained little hotel with well appointed rooms and spotlessly clean .

What a nice stay we had, all the staff friendly and more than helpful. The bar was really nice and sitting in the beer garden at night was nice and piece-full. The room balcony is a great idea for people who want a chill out in the sun or at night outside their room.

Myself and my wife recently stayed here for 2 nights having travelled up for an event in York on Sunday and we are so glad we chose here. We arrived rather late on Friday evening due to work and traffic and I was worried this would affect check in or anything, however it didn't. We arrived and walked into the bar area. As soon as we did a friendly member of staff who was serving another a pint at this time welcomed us and asked if we were checking in, so I said we were, and really quickly he showed us up to our room and carried my suitcase. He asked if we wanted breakfast to which we said we did and he advised us where to go and what time. I asked when did I have to pay for the room and he said we could either do it on the night or when we checked out, which I feel was a very nice choice. The room was spacious, and very clean. The bed was so comfy. A couple of slight issues however (which I'll mention a bit later on). We then went downstairs and got a table for a couple of pints and some food. The food was so fresh and of high quality! Very reasonably priced I feel, 2 mails and 4 pints worked out just under £55 for 2 of us. Breakfast the next day was again of high quality, it cost £25 for 2 of us, and we had a full English & a coffee. The portions were pretty big and then we had the option of bread / toast / cereal etc. We only had breakfast for one of the days due to being tired on the morning of check out. We then checked out and the member of staff confirmed what days we had breakfast, and simply removed the day we didn't, The stay overall was superb and I would highly recommend staying here if you are around Harrogate (Which was only a 1 5min taxi ride away) The only downside to this stay (and stopping me giving a 5 star review) was the walls in the room are really really thin, to the point you can hear people in the next room talking or watching the TV. Also, the flooring seemed to be very very creaky, and so if anyone else walked around, you would hear it. Lastly, at various times from the early hours, we could hear what I could only describe as dripping onto the roof above from somewhere. It would start and stop for a random period. I know some of this can't be helped by the place, but just felt I'd be honest, and if it wasn't for these, it would most certainly have been a 5 star. Happy to return hopefully soon! :)

We stayed for 4 nights whilst working in Harrogate. An easy drive from the town to the very peaceful location of the Inn surrounded by beautiful Yorkshire countryside. My room (11) was very clean and had everything I needed. Lovely to have biscuits on the tea/coffee tray. Bed was very comfortable and lovely to have a terrace to enjoy the spring sunshine. Very deep bath with good shower and soft towels. Only soap was provided but not a problem as I brought my own toiletries and feel this is more environmentally friendly. Room was cleaned and serviced every day. to a very high standard. We ate in the bar on each of the 4 nights we stayed and all our meals were fabulous. Great portions and absolutely delicious. Harry looked after us brilliantly and made us feel very welcome. Unfortunately, we had to leave too early to enjoy breakfast. Would definitely stay again.

Stayed here for one night, a stopover en route from Kent to Inverness. Very easy to find, and loads of free parking on site. Greeted on arrival by charming staff and shown to our room, which was on the small side but was plenty big enough for the two of us for one night. The room was clean and attractively decorated, with a double-aspect balcony, which meant we could sit out in the early morning sunshine. Evening meal was lovely, we only had one course, including a generous Yorkshire-sized gammon steak. Really didn’t need a dessert after that. Breakfast equally good, served by the same staff who clearly never need to rest. All in all, a perfect stopover, and one of those places we’d like to go back to for a longer stay sometime.

Short stay Great place for us as a place to sleep. We wanted to be near Fountains Abbey. The breakfast was amazing, we didn't eat on an evening so don't know about that. The building needs a little TLC, the door to our veranda was difficult to lock, the stairwell smelt a little fusty and there are no plug sockets near the bed. The bed was comfy though and the room basic but acceptable. Overall, a nice stay.
