A gorgeous grand dame of a hotel - maybe a little tired, but gorgeous building, large room, super clean, very friendly and great location. We will definitely book here again.

Not one friendly face throughout our stay. Live entertainment twice told by staff member to sing lower whilst actually singing and this at pre 22.00 hours.
Free car parking and walkable for an average person into the town.
Cleaners left hand written notes on the bed on things cleaned and changed after previous occupants left. Reception uninterested in this scenario and became rather stroppy when informed.
Will not be returning as we are embarrassed we took friends there.

Lovely stay, free parking which is rare in Harrogate. Nice stroll into town. Breakfast was served hot and was plentiful. No ques despite having 4 coaches in when we stayed. Our room was big, clean and well positioned. Lovely old building with some nice features. Staff all very pleasant. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Greeted with a friendly face and directed to reception. It’s a massive hotel old but clean and interesting. Our room 333 over looking the back of the hotel green lawn. The only thing I wasn’t keen on was the tea making facilities, which were polostrine cups like takeaway ones. Maybe from Covid, and the tea milk and sugar in a tied up bag, no tray. But later on we ordered sandwiches from the bar and he said that he could get them to our room if we wanted to rather than wait in the bar for them. That’s when I asked for a real cup and he said that he would send two up with our sandwiches. Nothing is to much trouble, I would and will be staying here again.

Fawlty `Towers But not funny. What a dump. Bare lightbulbs on the stairs - set in about 1950- nobody in their right mind would stay here. I was stuck here for a conference- I’d rather shoot myself in the head - Tragic - dusty - the dump time forgot. Stay home- or find somewhere else. So bad it’s tragic- no hot water in the bathroom- Clown on reception said - try turning on the basin and the bath. You’d need to be certified to stay here＞………..

Have been to this Hotel many times. It is a grand old building but this time the room we were given was awful. One tiny window so was Dark and dingy. Curtains were falling to bits and wallpaper peeling off the walls. We asked at reception and the nice young man put us in a much better room. Has put us off really . Shouldnt be putting people in such a shabby room. Staff always friendly. Needs serious renovation

A last minute decision to stay for a quick weekend in Harrogate, checked Premier Inn direct website ...£175.00 for 1 night!! Tried Cairn Hotel direct , £151.00, [ including breakfast],plumped for that, and what a great choice it was. Beautiful hotel in the Edwardian classical style, just oozes class, great staff, [ obviously well trained], fabulous room large , comfortable, slept like a log on the huge bed. Breakfast was just out of this World, again, great staff, attentive,without being pushy,...checked out this morning , [Sunday 20th], and told we could leave our car in their car park until late afternoon, just excellent. 5 minute walk into Harrogate centre, really cannot find any fault a all with this Hotel. We are planning to return in December....
