The West Park Hotel

We stayed in a penthouse for the weekend. The a/c didn't work so we slept badly. The most frustrating thing was, to get out of the stuffy room, we wanted to sit outside, however, all but the limited number of tables at the front were reserved for private functions - we were not warned about this at the time of booking. Those few tables at the front should have been reserved for guest seeing the rest had been given away to private functions, but instead were permanently occupied by passers by.

Friendly staff, great food, great prices and lovely location. Eat, drink, relax and watch the world go by. Started of with a coffee, then decided to have a snack but ended up having a three course meal. Everything was presented well and tasted fabulous.

This is my 3rd visit to this lovely hotel which is in a great position. We arrived on the an extremely hot day and was looking forward to a nice glass of wine in our air conditioned room whilst unpacking. Unfortunately the air con was not working. The staff provided a fan but the heat was horrendous. They kindly moved our room which had doors that opened facing the front. Sadly the air con was not working there either and no fans left. However the room was bigger with doors that could open so an improvement on out previous room. We had a really bad sleep due to the heat. The next day we were told it was working. However it was not but we managed to get a fan thankfully as it was 32deg outside. This really helped. The staff were lovely and it’s not their fault but as a guest it was very uncomfortable. They need to get this sorted asap. However all of the staff were so lovely and helpful. We ate in the hotel 1 night and the food was gorgeous, as was the wine. Great breakfast selection which was lovely quality. All staff work really hard to look after the guests. We had a lovely time in Harrogate and the rooms are beautiful with gorgeous comfy beds. Sadly on this occasion though it’s dropped marks for no air conditioning. I will however be back and hopefully the air con will be fixed. Thanks for a lovely stay

We had a fantastic stay at West Park Hotel! The spacious penthouse was cosy and inviting, with a lounge area and a handy sofa bed. The secluded balcony was a great spot for breakfast, soaking up the morning sun. The modern bathroom offered both a shower and a bath with a TV for added relaxation. Thoughtful touches like the Nespresso machine, tea, biscuits, and digital magazines made the stay even better. This was our second visit, and we’d gladly return—perfect location for shopping and dining in town!

Visited with my family, stood at the door waiting for ages with a handful of different staff members walking past us or looking at us and no one came to see if we were ok. After several minutes we sat ourselves down, went to the bar to order some drinks and afterwards were instructed we had to move as we were in a reserved area (no problem at all). However in future maybe have reserved signs or corner the area off, as well as acknowledging customers upon their arrival, even if it’s to say you’ll be with us soon, and that may save the embarrassment of us having to move tables. Wine wasn’t very nice, will be in no rush to return which is a shame as it’s visually pleasing.

Lovely place, great service Lovely hotel, great, friendly service. Upgraded to a suite on check-in which made the stay special. Breakfast good value for money and lovely options. Short walk to Harrogate shops and restaurants. Will stay again.
