Recommended to stay here as staff were very friendly and assisted fully in checking in and providing assistance. Breakfast was pretty decent as well and area was close to station, so it was easy to access other food areas such a Myeongdong. However, not much food options in the proximity of the hotel, aside from a 24hr ramyeon store.

Nice to have the airport limousine bus stop right at this hotel. Stayed in the exec twin room for 3nights. Very comfortable beds and fluffy towels! Room seems left ”vacant” for some time as the room doesnt smell fresh with stale-musky scent.
Staff are professional but seems like the guest services is a little unsure of the hotel surroundings when we asked for directions. And regardless of being environmental friendly, my humble view is that a 5-star hotel should still provide to the basic toiletries amenities. On our 2nd night stay, strangely we can smell the cigarette smoke in our room - not sure if the air piping system is not good or some guest smoking in his/her room.

Our 5-day, 4-night stay at this hotel was quite good! We booked a triple room for two adults and one child. It's worth noting that many hotels in Korea charge per person, unlike in China where a standard room can often accommodate three. It's best to confirm this before booking.
Getting there from the airport: Take bus 6015 and get off at the 'Hotel G3' stop. While there are Chinese announcements before the stop, it's still wise to pay attention. Remember to press the red button above your seat one stop prior to signal the driver. Once you get off, walk down a gentle slope for a few dozen meters (no stairs), turn left, and you'll see the hotel. It's very conveniently located! (To return to the airport, wait at the same stop. Make sure to have 17,000 KRW cash per person ready.)
The hotel lobby is on the second basement level (B2). The front desk staff speak English, and check-in was very quick. They'll hand you a small slip of paper with your room number and door code. Remember to take a photo of it and then dispose of the paper safely, as losing it could be a security risk.
While the hotel isn't directly in Myeongdong (it's about a 10-15 minute walk to the shopping street), its location is excellent due to its proximity to public transport. Chungmuro subway station is right downstairs, just outside the hotel entrance, and it's only one stop away from Myeongdong.
The room itself is a bit small, but it's well-equipped with a large refrigerator and a microwave, which were incredibly convenient. There's also a supermarket downstairs where we could easily grab snacks. For breakfast, we often bought rice balls, cakes, and delicious milk from the nearby convenience store. Additionally, there's a washing machine with a dryer function. If you plan to use it, make sure to bring your own laundry detergent, though we personally didn't use this amenity.
The room's soundproofing was pretty good, and bath towels were replaced daily. The elevators were acceptable; we never had to wait too long. More specific details can be found in the hotel's informational guide (see my photo #6).

Our room was consistently cleaned and tidied up every day without fail. New towels were also promptly provided and folded neatly in the bathroom. Room was clean and the ventilation was excellent as well! Pillows were plush and everything was very comfortable for our trip in Korea :). However one aspect that could be improved on would be the hotels breakfast buffet. Food items could be more varied and operated on a rotational menu.

I like new hotels and so I had reservation when I booked The Shilla because of its age and location. But, the restaurant La Yeon was amazing and I just had to return as I didn’t stay in The Shilla previously.
The hotel has no signs of aging. The service was truly exceptional! From the warm welcome at pickup, check-in to check-out, I was truly impressed with the friendliness and professionalism. The room was clean, new and spacious. The amenities needed were all supplied. Absolutely wonderful.
The attention to detail, personalized touches, and genuine hospitality made the stay unforgettable. A perfect blend of luxury and comfort - definitely an experience worth repeating!
Granted the location is a bit off but the hotel offered shuttle to a few points. I didn’t make use of that as taxis were readily available.

GGuest UserIf visiting Myeongdong, stay at Le Meridien! Great location, super helpful staff, modern clean rooms with minimal carpet, hallways always smell great, high tech gym and beautiful indoor pool amongst many positives. Knocked off one star for Amenities due to the air-condition in our room having issues on a week when Seoul was 35-38 decrees C. Also, the entrance is strange (on 4th floor) and shared with another hotel. So it takes two elevators to get outdoors and back to your room. The elevators run quickly so this was not an issue for us. Definitely recommend this hotel and kuddos to the staff who do an amazing job everyday!
MMomo on the roadSolaria Hotel Review
Cleanliness:
The hotel is absolutely clean. Rooms are cleaned every two days, but fresh towels are provided daily in a basket left at your door, which I found very convenient.
Staff & Services:
The staff are very friendly and cheerful. I requested an extra blanket, and housekeeping delivered it within just five minutes—very responsive and efficient service.
Location:
Excellent location right in the heart of Myeongdong shopping street. It’s only a 5-minute walk to the airport bus station (6001/6015), making it very convenient for travelers.
Room Layout:
I really liked that the toilet and shower are in separate rooms. This made it much more convenient for me and my partner to get ready at the same time.
Added Value:
As a coffee lover, I really appreciated that Nespresso capsules were refilled and restocked every day—a great added touch!
Summary:
Overall, I had a great experience at Solaria Hotel and would highly recommend it.
MM31121****Stayed with my child. I've previously stayed at hotels of this brand many years ago and always found the overall environment pleasant and the breakfast quite good. This location is convenient for dining and shopping local brands (especially cosmetics), with fried chicken and BBQ places easily accessible on foot. However, this time, the hotel felt quite out of the way for our itinerary, resulting in a less satisfying overall experience and poor value for money.
GGuest UserLocated in the heart of Seoul, the front desk staff were very welcoming. The surrounding area is great, with plenty of shops right downstairs and nearby, making it very convenient for dining and shopping. The room was a bit small.
SSy 66Hotel service is nice and sweet, all the staffs are pleasant, English fluent, suitable for foreigners to stay. Room is nice and comfortable. Slept very very well. Prime location next to Hyundai mall. Will definitely come back again
MM22041****The location is fantastic, just a 5-minute walk from Exit 14 of Dongdaemun History & Culture Park subway station (though my navigation suggested 10 minutes via main roads, there's a convenient shortcut). The lobby on the 14th floor is very spacious. The room was impressively large, bigger than other properties of the same brand I've stayed at, including one nearby and another in Jeju Island (this is my third time staying with this chain). The bed was nothing special, about 1 meter wide, but perfectly adequate for a solo traveler. If I return to the area, this would absolutely be my top choice! The attached photo is of Hongdae – I completely forgot to take pictures of the hotel itself!
MMsBeh94A modern and stylish hotel located about 10 minutes on foot from Seoul Station or Heohyeon Station (slightly closer to hotel), making it an ideal base for travelers using the AREX to Incheon Airport or the KTX to other cities like Busan. The concierge is on Level 1, accessible via the pedestrian-only Seoullo overpass or elevator from the ground floor. Do note that the route from Seoul Station involves gentle slopes, pedestrian crossings, and minor stairs, which might be slightly inconvenient if you're hauling luggage (not bad, might just need more time to arrive hotel).
The hotel has a trendy on-site restaurant, Seoulista, that can get busy at night, which adds to the city vibe and offers room service options like Korean fried chicken (though slightly on the pricey side). A 7-Eleven is nearby, and Namdaemun Market is about a 7-minute walk away, great for morning eats or exploring during the day.
Room matched the photos – ours came with 3 single beds, though space is a bit tight, especially if trying to open multiple suitcases. Amenities were sufficient, except for no microwave, toothbrush and toothpaste, in line with South Korea’s sustainability policy (banned one-time use amenities). The TV supports Netflix, and cleanliness was well-maintained with daily housekeeping visits. One downside was the warm, dim lighting, which could make makeup application a little difficult.
Complimentary luggage storage at hotel is available, which is convenient for early check-in or late departures.
The Seoul Station area can feel a little rough at night, with a visible homeless presence, especially in underpasses. While they’re generally harmless elderly individuals, it’s best to remain aware of your surroundings and use the overpass when possible, where there seems to be a 24/7 security guard presence.
If you have time to spare, the Lotte Outlets and Mart at Seoul Station is a great stop for last-minute souvenir shopping or snacks – it gets quite busy on weekends with travelers making final purchases before flights.
Overall, a comfortable and well-connected hotel, especially for those prioritizing easy access to major rail or bus lines, though the room size and price point may be worth considering for longer stays.
AAnonymous UserFood options are conveniently located downstairs, and the hotel itself is impeccably clean. The surrounding area offers excellent shopping opportunities and pleasant views. A Chinese-speaking staff member at the front desk was incredibly helpful, which is why I choose to stay here for all my business trips.
Cleanliness: Spotless
Facilities: Modern
Location: Compact but extremely convenient
AAnonymous UserI had an amazing stay at Hostel Seven Seoul! From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, always ready to help with any questions or recommendations. The hostel itself is super clean, cozy, and well-maintained. I loved the comfortable beds and the thoughtful little touches like privacy curtains and lockers in the dorm rooms.
The location is perfect — just a short walk from public transportation, great cafes, restaurants, and some of Seoul’s coolest neighborhoods. It’s also a peaceful spot, so I could really relax after a day of exploring the city. The common area is a great place to meet other travelers and share experiences.
Overall, Hostel Seven Seoul felt like a home away from home. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, friendly, and convenient place to stay in Seoul!
MMary KathrynWe were able to locate the guest house easily using Naver Map. However, our first struggle was how to reach the destination itself.
The guesthouse is located in an uphill area, almost near Namsan Cable Car (600km/20min walk). A great tip we discovered (after struggling of walking uphill for 2 days 😂) was using the escalators/elevators near the Ihoeyeong Memorial Hall. Go straight from there and you’ll find a 7-Eleven convenience store upon crossing the street. Go left then right at the first wide alley way you see, it should be uphill. Keep on walking until you see a signage of mama guest house on your right side.
We booked a day before our arrival so we could immediately check-in in our rooms. A note welcomed us and our keys were found at the reception area. Pls don’t forget to remove your shoes and change into the slippers they provide found in the shoe cabinet at the left side of the entrance.
Our rooms were next to each other, but differ in size. Bathroom was okay, but I hope they’ll fix the sink’s pipe problem in room 104 since it leaks on the floor upon using. I suggest buying shower filters (5,000 Won) since the water in SK is quite harsh. I suggest to test how you’ll adjust the temperature when showering. There were no bidets in our bathrooms.
Always bring your keycard with you whenever you go out. They don’t go into your rooms like hotels would. If you have any requests, just leave a note on their desk (ie. New towels, tissue, etc.) They also don’t have laundry machines. Do not eat inside the rooms, only in the kitchen which is in the basement.
If you feel like your trash bins are getting full, trash bins are found in the lobby and segregate everything according to their waste category. Just think of it as you’re staying on your own room.
Walls are thin, made of light wood materials so I wouldn’t suggest talking nor listening to your phone loudly.
Breakfast menu were cereals with milk, bread and flavored jam, and instant noodles. You can only consume what’s inside the fridge unless there’s a note that a room guest owns it. You can cook and buy your own food, just make sure you clean up after. You can also fill-up your water bottles here.
Going to different areas are easy too since it’s near Myeongdong Station exit 1. If you’re planning to go shopping in Myeongdong, just go straight after exit 1 and you should see E-Mart across the street then cross on the first crosswalk you see. If you want to enter the “main” street, go left until you see the bug HBAF building.
Overall, I think our stay was a good since the staff we get see was very accommodating to our requests. I just hope they’ll fix some of their bathroom leakage.
