Recommend this hotel! Great clean, large rooms and staff are lovely. Pool is VERY refreshing and breakfast is very varied and delicious. On another note - I want to say a MASSIVE thank you to the travel service this hotel provides. I have never received such wonderful, prompt communication and we did a 10 day trip (many different excursions) at a very competitive price. Even when there was a hiccup with dates, he staff work tirelessly to rectify - even at 10pm!!! Highly recommend this stay - yes, some night can be slightly noisy but earplugs are provided and we slept soundly. We knew we wanted to stay central and knew the risks of that!

At first, I was offered a room on the 5th floor without an elevator. I asked for another room, now on the 3rd floor. It was tiny, with constant light, a frosted door and glass above the door, and a skylight without a curtain. A complete disgrace. The kitchen has no stove and a washing machine is for staff use only. You can hear even the slightest noise in this house. This homestay is completely overpriced.

A very comfortable and affordable hostel near the old quarter and the train street. Very helpful and friendly staff. They provide towel, sleepers and locker keys with a refundable deposit. Make sure to take your own shampoo and soap.

The hotel contacted me on WhatsApp before our stay to offer tours to other cities since they’re also a travel agency. We didn’t reply, but when we arrived after a long flight, instead of checking us in right away, the staff still tried to sell us some tours. I didn’t really mind, but I was tired and wouldn’t book anything last minute anyway. The elevator is quite slow, and even with it, you still have to go down one flight of stairs to reach your room. As soon as we opened the door, there was a strong unpleasant smell. The staff said it was because they had just cleaned and suggested we leave the door open for several minutes — not ideal when all you want to do is rest. They provide complimentary water, coffee, and tea, and breakfast is included. However, the breakfast spread is the same every day, and the bread is already pre-toasted, so it’s cold by the time you get to the small dining area. If you come down late, there’s usually not much food left. Basic toiletries like towels, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, and shampoo are provided. The bathroom has a bidet, but the shower’s water pressure is quite weak. Note that the hotel is **not accessible by car** — taxis will drop you off nearby, and you’ll have to walk a bit and find your way via Google Maps. The location is very central, just a one-minute walk to St. Joseph’s Cathedral and surrounded by many restaurants, cafés, and spas. It may look a bit sketchy at first, but this seems typical for the Old Quarter area. Soundproofing is poor — you can hear noise from the street and even from the next room. Some balusters on the staircase are coming loose, and there were red hairs in the shower area, which suggests it wasn’t thoroughly cleaned. The facilities overall feel quite old. If you’re particular about cleanliness and comfort, this hotel might not meet your expectations. But if you just need a cheap, central place to crash for a night or two, it’s manageable.

We made 3 different reservations at this hotel and stayed for about 20 days. It is in a perfect location, very nice, very close to everything and quiet. It is very clean and this was very important to us. The laundry and work area are very good. The staff is very attentive and really good. I recommend this hotel to everyone. If we come to Vietnam again, I would like to stay at M Hotel again.

This was my first time in Hanoi, Vietnam. I booked a hotel through a friend's recommendation. It was a homestay, but it was as comfortable as a hotel, with clean facilities and a friendly owner. I loved it. The service was excellent, and the price was reasonable. There was also a laundry room downstairs, which was very convenient. Above all, the owner was friendly and spoke English well, so I had a comfortable stay. The cleaning lady was also very thorough. I was very satisfied. It was a little hard to find at first, but when I called, the owner came out and pointed it out to me. I plan to stay here again next time I visit Vietnam. There are so many restaurants nearby, which is great. Thank you.

1. Duplex up to the fourth floor (very spacious and big! The kitchen on the first floor and the room from the second floor and above, but there are two rooms + one toilet on each floor) 2. Toilet is only available on the 2nd and 3rd floors ... (1st and 4th floors are too narrow and dirty) 3. There are too many small ants in the bathroom. ㅠ There are insect shells everywhere on the ceiling. 4. Room condition is good! Bed clean! 5. Kitchen utensils are dirty and cannot be used. 6. The landlord is well contacted and friendly (the security seems to be good) 7. 7 minutes walk to Hanoi Opera House! Good location! General comment: there is a reason why the price is cheap ... I don't care about cleanliness + I recommend it if it's spacious first, but it's shining for those who expect the condition like a hotel. I'm happy with what I've experienced once.

AAnonymous UserI was concerned when I saw the comments about the low rating. However, that worry was unnecessary. The location was great and the staff was adequate. They offered luggage storage both before and after check-in. The room was also decent. The only thing I would say is that I don't know if it was just my room, but the WiFi in the room did not connect to the internet, which was disappointing. The restrooms and facilities were adequate for my needs.

GGuest UserThe room simply looked cute. Even the lighting design was cute when I lay down in bed. The hallways and lobby were also cute. I stayed in a Superior Single room for three nights after Independence Day in September as a single woman. The Superior Single room has twin beds and an exterior window. The view outside the window isn't spectacular, but it does give you a glimpse into the attics of the houses in the old town. I didn't see any other Japanese guests. The front desk staff were very hospitable. After check-out on the fourth day, they stored my luggage for me until my night flight, and they also let me use the bathroom on the first floor and an outlet to charge my smartphone. They were patient with my poor English, and whenever I emailed them from the room, they replied promptly and clearly. My room was pleasantly prepared every day. As a new hotel, I was worried about being bitten by tropical insects, as I didn't have any experience, but even though there were no screens, I only saw two small gnats-like creatures. Maybe I brought them in from outside. There was no unpleasant smell. Two small bottles of water were provided free of charge. The following were slightly different from what I expected: - This was an area of the Old Town with particularly heavy morning and evening rush hours. This street is mainly lined with hardware stores. - There was no security deposit box in the room. - Staff said they could look after my suitcase, but I locked it away. - There was no toilet paper holder. - The hotel itself had no dining options. - There was a small cafe across the street, so that wasn't a problem. - No conditioner. - The room had a window facing the hallway, so I could see into my room from the hallway. - There were curtains that could be closed. - The hallway was stylish with an open ceiling, but it could be noisy at times unless all the rooms were quiet. - Earplugs were enough to keep it quiet.

GGuest UserThis room was perfect for relaxing. The furniture was modern yet simple, and I really appreciated the small details, like the soft throw blanket on the chair and the clean wooden floors. Everything felt fresh and cared for. I could easily spend a whole day inside, reading or just enjoying the quiet.

KKaty RogExcellent hostel! I stayed in a female room Pros: + ideal location: nearby attractions, supermarket, farmacy, lots of cafes, meeting point for a trip to Hanoi, 20 meters away a point from where you can leave by express bus to other parts of the country. + common areas (tables, beanbags). + good breakfast is included + the room was clean, the bed was good, there was a curtain, socket, light. The water pressure was good. Cons: - they don't give you a towel. - the bathroom and toilet are within the room, but there is no soundproof door to them. That is, if at 6 am someone wants to dry their hair in front of the mirror, you will hear everything.
