Back again for another go and figure I'd share some tips. I've stayed at this property many times and there is always an issue. During, and just after COVID, it was the condition of the rooms: chipping paint/drywall, carpet stains, broken window shades, terribly limp pillows, missing towel racks, etc. Most of those issues are gone and the basic maintenance appears to have improved. This time, around, it's the service (which previously had been pretty good). I'm a Bonvoy Platinum but realize my status holds no value at Element properties, but figured I'd ask for a 2nd floor room (laundry room is on this floor) that faced outside, not the courtyard (as others have noted, it's awkward to face other rooms). I was assigned a 3rd floor room and told the only other option was a first floor room (not great; people walk by and can peer inside if your shades aren't drawn). I was told the hotel was fully booked (not true; the parking lot is relatively empty and they're still selling rooms for my dates) but knew a protest was fruitless. The room I received also has the permanently sticky floor that others have noted (I tried cleaning it with Clorox), a safe that was still locked on arrival, a fridge that is not cold enough to store perishables, malfunctioning bedside lights that leave the room really dark, and a shower handle that doesn't appear to support anything but hot or scalding hot temps. Worst of all, when I raised the issue with the desk clerk, she noted maintenance wasn't available (it was a Sunday). I messaged the front desk on Monday through the Bonvoy app to remind them but haven't received a response (it's been nearly four hours). I have spent thousands of dollars at this property over the years but may have finally hit my breaking point. The nearby Hyatt Place is a solid alternative for road warriors, even if you're a devout Bonvoy member.

I stayed in room 522. The hotel is a little outdated, but it is still not bad. The service was outstanding. The only down points are that the AC unit rattled a little too loud for me, and the tub had a massive crack in the tile against the wall, filled in with caulking, some was missing; take care not to cut your arm when in the shower. The room was very clean, bedding was very comfortable. You were made to feel like a welcome guest. (The walls a little thin; a couple next door was deffently having a good time)

My boyfriend and I came into town for the Crawling Crab Half Marathon. I am a Marriott member for a number of years and it was such an enjoyable experience staying here. Taryn who is one of the managers assisted us on a number of occasions with The Bistro. She was so welcoming and was a pleasure to work with. She made us feel like being home away from home. A great stay all around. We'll definitely recommend staying here to others and look towards staying here in the future.

Needs updates, cable TV instead of dish. Grounds around the hotel need to be fixed up and taken care of more often. Outdoor furniture needs to be at more locations and better quality. I will say most of the staff is great, there are a few that need a little help in the customer service area.
