The room is quite spacious and bright, the bathroom is a bit narrow, the location is very convenient, you can walk to the shopping mall and Hamburg Central Station in a few minutes, you can even walk to the Warehouse City, it is very convenient.

The hotel location is handy to the central train station and supermarkets and shops, but be warned that it is very close to August - Bebel - Park a very popular place for alcoholics, druggies and the homeless. I accidentally walked passed the park and got a big fright. It is best to make sure you walk on the other side of the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg. I was assured by a local woman that the people in the park are more concerned with themselves than other people, but I was not comfortable being by myself near a large number of people that could behave erratically. My hotel room was exactly the same as other Ibis Budget Hotels that I have stayed in, except it had a strange whine coming through the ventilation system in the shower. It wasn't all the time but it was enough to wake me in the night.

Perfect Location - 5 Min walk to Metro and only one station Breakfast was enough and fresh. Rooms are classical ibis rooms but all fine and clean. Only due to climate reasons heating wasn't enough for January

First of all, the hotel is a 1-star hotel which means expectations are low and limited services with the facility. It is in a convinient location with a walking distance to the central station and shopping district. The staff is extremely rude amd arrogant. We arrived as a group of 56 and the receptionist named “C Konschak” had no sense of humour nor any knowledge of how to welcome or handle a group arrival. He made all groups guest sign a sheet which doesnt make any sense as all rooms were paid and we had a group leader. There is no proper lobby are due to the concept of the hotel so we had to stand as a masaive croud with our luggage in the middle of the reception. We advised him to provide all keys to the tour leader to distribute however this request was denied. Similar things happened at check out where the staff did not care of anything during handing over the keys. Besides this all towels were worn / ripped. Breakfast is also a disaster as the capacity is not enough for the amount of rooms and in-house guests. We asked for bus parking and the above mentioned stafffhad no idea also gave us false directions. For those who are travelling as a groups with a large bus, please note thar there is a bus parking slot right next door in the street.
Response from Property: Dear cubexxx, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about your recent stay at ibis budget Hamburg City. We appreciate your honest review and are truly sorry to hear about the negative experiences you had during your stay. It's disappointing to learn that you found our staff to be rude and arrogant. We apologize for any behavior that did not meet your expectations. Providing a warm and welcoming environment for our guests is of utmost importance to us, and we are sorry that we fell short in this aspect. We apologize for any inconvenience you faced during the check-in process, especially considering your group size. We appreciate your feedback regarding the distribution of keys and the handling of your group's needs. Your feedback will be shared with our team to ensure that we can improve our procedures for group arrivals. Nontheless it is a German law, that you have to sign the registration cards. Furthermore, we apologize for any issues you encountered with the towels, breakfast capacity, and the lack of proper information regarding bus parking. Your comments are valuable to us and will be taken into consideration as we work to improve our services and facilities. We truly hope that you would consider giving us another opportunity in the future to provide you with a better experience. We will use your feedback constructively to enhance our guest services. Thank you for bringing these matters to our attention. Sincerely, Carsten Woll Hotel Manager ibis budget Hamburg City

Very nice hotel, with good access to the Hauptbahnhof and Hafencity. Snack bar isn't 24 hours which is a little frustrating but the staff are very efficient. The Ibis next door has a lot more amenities and an outside seating area. It does exactly what you'd expect an Ibis Budget to do.

This is a simple but good hotel. The rooms are not big, but clean, and the breakfast good. The location of the hotel is very good, you can walk to most of the attractions in Hamburg. I can recommend the hotel

Clean but very basic. Thin pillows and minimal amenities (e.g., no hairdryer). Easy to walk to all the major attractions and very close to the train station. Check-in experience was fine. Recommend if you're ok a budget.

Location was brilliant due to being close to the main train station. Bed was so comfy, extra pillow was no problem. As the Ibis and Ibis Budget are next to each other you profit from the bar next door open after the Ibis budget reception closes. Breakfast had a huge choice for every taste.

I was not expecting much but I did expect more than a room that resembles a prison cell. Arriving after 10.30 pm I had to check in at the regular ibis. The moment I explained I was booked into the budget side the politeness went down several notches. ‚I should have said. So straight away‘ when the chap on reception could not find my booking. Not that there is a decent sized sign telling customer where how to check in and where they need to go if arriving later. There is a notice in the lift ( two lifts neither working properly) advises that breakfast is available mid to book a slot at the desk… but when you stay in the cheap budget side the main reception desk cannot or does not want to take bookings for the budget side of the hotel. The guy got quite rude about it and raised his voice. Really cannot recommend this place!!! And at €72 it is. It exactly that cheap!!!!

We had a great time, even though the rooms are small, they are tidy and have everything you need. The staff was kind and friendly and helped us in everything. We even made a mistake on the day of check-out and they didn't charge us any additional costs. We left the hotel at 3:00 pm instead of 12:00 pm.

My backpack was stolen from the hotel's locker because it was broken into during the night! No spare clothes, no shoes, no backpack after a 2.5 week bike trip through Denmark! An apology was the only response from management!

Very small room, no storage space. We had splashes on the wall that seemed to be of organic origin. The housekeeping lady didn't understand German very well and called the painter. We explained to her that the problem could probably be solved with a very wet cloth... well... the painter didn't understand German at all. After painting, the splashes were still visible. The ladder to the upper bed squeaked miserably... luckily it was clean.
