Very near the rail station. Nice morning staff. She was multitasking. Dated, cold room but clean. Water pressure super. Relaxing. Complementary coffee, tea,and cookies Night staff unhelpful with my simple taxi issue. I could have done a bank transfer right away since I am a hotel guest. Morning lady staff allowed me to leave my stuff so I could walk around after check out.

Great location for Eureka and right opposite the railway station. Very friendly staff and a few requests were made without any fuss. Great choice for breakfast very good value. Definitely stay there again.

I attended the function yesterday (26th July) and I have never experienced anything like it, the hotel is run down. Tried blagging a ‘Beer Garden’ with a few benches in a car park. Having seen previous pictures of the building it is safe to say the current owners have ruined it. Slow and RUDE staff mainly one in-particular (Steve or Stevie) didn’t quite catch her name. Belittling staff, talking to guests with an attitude hardy the service you expected to receive from a so called manager or at least acting like one. I have received better service a maccies drive-thru. Maybe this company should rethink the hotels they offer under there ‘umbrella’ and the staff.

Stayed for a concert in piece hall location is ideal BUT “hotel” was less than. Was reminiscent of a run down B&B in Blackpool. No lift dark and dingy interior on entrance and the room was horrific. Took £100 deposit on arrival not stated before we arrived but what a joke you could not do £100 worth of damage if you tried! Dark depressing run down tatty dirty the list goes on. Dirty carpets old chipped tatty furniture curtain pole with no curtains just a cheap roller blind, rock hard beds although bedding was clean I was terrified bed bugs might crawl out of the stained shabby divan. Pictures online are not honest this hotel needs a massive overhaul only reason we didn’t leave is because we had the concert and no other option if it was just for a weekend away I would have left immediately. Halifax needs to up their game on accommodation as this seemed the best of a bad bunch round there and for that reason I would not be going back in a hurry. Such a shame as piece hall is fantastic but definitely put a dampener on our night having to go back to sleep in the imperial crown.

First of all the deposit you have to pay for damage to the room is a complete joke you could set it on fire and not cause £100 worth of damage, it took me a week to get it refunded I have no idea where they took the photos but it wasn't in the hotel we stayed in, the staff are friendly enough untill you get home and have to fight to get the deposit back then you get the shirty youth who couldn't care less, the only thing this hotel has going for it is the location to the piece hall and city centre, if you need to stay in Halifax I would find somewhere else even if it means a walk in as the stress it caused was certainly not worth it

Stayed here for two nights for a concert at the peace hall . Good points .excellent friendly staff and great location. But that's where the good points end unfortunately. Bad points . Rooms old and tired . Very small and uncomfortable bed . Rock hard mattress and poor quality pillows. My daughter ended up sleeping on the floor the first night as she found it to be more comfortable!!! The extractor fan outside the room on the wall was loud and noisy and made the whole floor vibrate!! Although they did turn this off for our second night which was a relief. They gave us another duvet for the second night to help make the mattress more comfortable. The carpet was stained in places and the walls were in a poor state Unfortunately I won't be returning

Wished I had read reviews on this hotel. Absolutely worst hotel I have been in. The mattress was so old and flat , it was impossible to sleep on . There was a pair of somebody else’s socks in the room. The bathroom wall beside the toilet pan was filthy, it had not been properly cleaned in a long time . Old furniture tatty and scratched , the carpet was tacky and dirty, I did not walk on it with bare feet . Complained and got another room for the second night . The mattress was much better. The rest of the room was equally shabby and uncomfortable 😣. Avoid this hotel at all costs.

This is a pretty average hotel. When we arrived we were charged with a £100 deposit. This was refundable but we were not expecting to have to pay this as it did not say on the website. We requested (a week prior) a little oat milk (or milk alternative) for the room but were provided with none as they didn’t have any. There was no jug of water either in the room (requested also), although when I asked them they gave us some. The hotel is in a perfect location right next to the Piece Hall which is ideal for gigs. However, the hotel is loud at night and we were kept awake with people upstairs running a bath with the TV on. The room was dated but fine. However, there were massive stains on the carpet and some stains on the surfaces that did not come off. We were also bitten by fleas (found 2 of them!) in the night. However, apart from this everything else was fine. The breakfast in the morning was superb! And the staff were friendly. With a few improvements this hotel could be much better.
