Very near the rail station.
Nice morning staff. She was multitasking.
Dated, cold room but clean. Water pressure super. Relaxing.
Complementary coffee, tea,and cookies
Night staff unhelpful with my simple taxi issue. I could have done a bank transfer right away since I am a hotel guest.
Morning lady staff allowed me to leave my stuff so I could walk around after check out.

Great location for Eureka and right opposite the railway station.
Very friendly staff and a few requests were made without any fuss.
Great choice for breakfast very good value.
Definitely stay there again.

The hotel is a bit dated. For our two night stay the room they gave us was like a broom cupboard, 12ft by 10ft and that's not counting the double wardrobe, desk, chair and bed. Had to turn on all the wall lamps to make the room brighter only window was very small with frosted glass. Tiles in bathroom loose and grimy and the radiator did not work. Other than that the staff were very polite and helpful.

Needed a budget hotel to stay for a reunion in Halifax. Good value hotel in a central location. Very friendly well informed staff. Slightly surprised by a £100 damage deposit on arrival, though promptly refunded after departure. Also the car park is slightly detached from the hotel and not well marked by signage. Overall a good trip.

What a little gem Some rooms a little dated however this was more than made up for by Melissa the bar manager and the restrant staff by both the service and food. Chiefs both morning and evening could not be more helpful cooking to our tastes and the food was amazing. Nothing to much trouble and the food both evening meal and the breakfast was amazing. All staff were knowledgeable and more than happy to be helpful with places to visit and try throughout our stay. Melissa was so friendly and helpful and sorted out a blip we had with our room she even came to make sure we had parked in the correct carpark. Please try don't listen to the negative reviews well worth a try we have had a great weekend x We will definitely be back for the Christmas markets 😁

Ok for a cheap, central stay. We only stayed there because we are from Sheffield and were out in Halifax for a friend's birthday, so rather than long trains home or expensive taxis, we chose a cheap, central hotel. Liked · Great central location and was a cheap stay. Disliked · The property and rooms are very, very dated and probably can use an update and some things would be better to be refurbished. Not the hotels fault, but when we arrived there was a homeless, drunk man asleep on the stairs of the entrance. By the time we checked in, they had moved him along. Just worth noting as could be very intimidating.

The hotel is centrally placed and excellent for visiting central Halifax. The hotel is well appointed and clean. The room we had was spacious and the bathroom immaculately clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The restaurant serves good evening meals and the breakfast is well cooked and promptly served.

Located beside railway station and next door to the #PieceHall. Excellent location if attending an event in the area !! Staff were friendly and welcoming. Rooms are basic and comfortable. Bar & Restaurant were spot on. Breakfast service was a little slow, but it hit the spot !!

Stayed here last weekend with friends when attending a concert in The Piece Hall. Was quite apprehensive due to many negative reports. However, the staff and hotel exceeded all our expectations. Fantastic location and very welcoming reception staff. Yes it’s a little dated but perfectly acceptable to get your head down after a few beers and a concert. Comfortable beds, lashings of hot water and affordable car parking. The Railway pub next door is great as is the Meandering Bear just round the corner.
