WOMEN- DO NOT STAY HERE. Something very seedy going on there. Taxi drivers tried to convince my Mum and I not to stay as it was a ******* previously and was heavily hinted at that it is still operating under a front of being a legit guest house after a bust apparently. I would tend to agree from what I saw. Whole place was filthy, front door and room door wide open with keys in there- very unsafe. Rude staff. Not worth what you save after having taxis refuse to pick up from the location and being forced to take only one firm who we had no choice but to pay the extortionate rate.

I shall begin by saying if I could actually give a native rating, it would be minus 5, this establishment is lucky to get one. I initially booked Oakcroft guest house via *********** and it seemed okay, with average reviews. My plans changed and so I decided to add an extra night, arriving one day earlier, and I tried contacting the property direct to see if this was possible. I was put through to a call handler from a company called OYO, he offered me the additional night cheaper than *********** and so I took the deal. This meant I now had two separate bookings for the same room for separate nights. 25th April through to 27th April 2022. The hackney cab from the train station at Manchester airport cost me £10.00 (remember this figure). I was dropped off and I was notified by email that it was a self check in, but I had to telephone the number on the table by reception. I made the call, and I was told I was in room 8 upstairs, and my room key was behind the door. As I made my way upstairs I witnessed green Laundry bags scattered around the top floor, it was obvious the rooms were being changed over. I saw a tall lady wearing socks, (no footwear) with 3/4 length tracksuit bottoms, a hoodie, enter my room and so I walked to the door and knocked, followed by the standard "hello" and there was no reply/. I knocked again, and again saying "hello". The lady I had seen enter the room walked straight by me from the bathroom area to the bed which was still being made, and again I said "hello". It was at this stage I thought she had headphones on under the hoodie because she never once replied and continued to make the bed. I proceed to lean down towards the floor and waived at her again saying "hello" to which she looked up at me and said "do not talk to me white boy, I am not your friend!" Now, correct me if I am wrong, put the shoe on the other foot, I would be locked up!! I said " how dare you racially insult me, I am out of here" I think telephoned the same number I used to check in, and I informed the chap on the end of the phone about what had just happened and I said I wanted to leave with a full refund, and all he could say was, "yeah okay", no apology whatsoever. I went down the stairs to the main entrance and on the wall was a telephone number for Scotts-Cars, a private hire taxi company and on the wall, the tariffs they charge to take you to certain destinations, Manchester Airport train station being one of these. The cost £15.00, £5.00 more than the hackney. As I was on the phone ordering the taxi, the tall racist lady walk up to me and handed me her mobile phone with a nice long message that she had translated into English. This time, she called me blonde boy, and repeated I was not her friend and I was not to speak to her. So now I have just been racially abused twice in the space of 3 minutes by the same person. I then went onto topcashback, logged into ***********, and booked the Clayton Hotel for the 2 nights I n

Awful company. We read the reviews on here and thought surely it can't be that bad. We thought we would give it a chance given the fairly low cost. Don't do it. Don't make the same mistake. Like others on here, we were cancelled the night before we were due to arrive. What a joke. They overbook then cancel the bookings that were of less value. The place looks like a dump, let's be real but don't fall in to the same trap of risking it. There are so many bad reviews for a reason! Don't spoil the start of your holiday like we did. Avoid!!

While the proximity to the airport was ideal and the bed was extremely comfortable, that’s where the positive points end. Checking in 24 hours in advance was a pain - similar to other reviews we did not receive info in advance and in fact the number we had from the ******* listing to call had a typo in it. We then spent a frustrating 30 minutes trying to connect with OYO head office which was absolutely useless. We finally just asked them to give us the direct number for the guest house and we were able to reach the correct person. After that, checkin was a snap (albeit very weird to not have anyone onsite to connect with upon arrival, and also weird that the house just remained unlocked all evening). The common bathroom was filthy with dirty towels about, no hand soap (during the pandemic!) and no hand towels. Our room had a bathroom and shower en-suite. The toilet wouldn’t flush so we had to fiddle with that for a while to get it working. There was also a used razor on the bathroom cabinet. The home is gorgeous and could be a real masterpiece b&b or guest house with some work, but it’s clear the current owners/operators don’t care to put the effort into making this concept work properly.

We were told that we would receive a text telling us how to get into our room booked through *********** but when this didn't happen we tried to call the hotel. We spent a long time trying to get through to a person after being constantly referred to the computerized chat system which wouldn't accept our booking ref. Eventually we chose the option saying we wanted to book a room and got through to someone. When we finally got into the room all the windows were open. We soon realised why- the heating was on full blast with no way of turning it down. The bathroom was so hot with the heat from the towel rail that the only way you could use it was to leave the door open. This would be a burn risk for a child. The door handle to the room was a metal one which had broken in half and was razor sharp - beware of cutting your hand. The toilet handle was in a hole through some plywood and didn't flush properly. We didn't have a shower because the room was filthy although thankfully the bedding seemed clean. The main wall inside the room had been polyfilled and just left unpainted. I'm not sure why there were so many holes to fill! Tea bags, sugar and a cup was provided but no milk or coffee. We went out and bought a jar of coffee only to realise there were no tea spoons! The room was littered with random things like toilet rolls and something that we didn't touch but looked like ice cubes or crystal air fresheners?? They didn't smell of anything. The floor looked like it had been taken up and relaid by a four year old. The hotel was about 10-15 min drive from terminal two at Manchester airport but we won't be wasting our money again.

This is the most unpleasant, dirtiest hotel I have ever had the misfortune to stay in. You wipe your feet on the way out. No host available. You have to ring a number and they were unpleasant and unhelpful. The advert said covid restrictions , cleaning and sanitation were in place. The place was absolutely filthy. Hadn't been cleaned in months. Walking in, the place had the grottiest, dirtiest carpet ever seen. The whole place including communal areas were dirty. The kitchen was a disgrace. Cupboard doors hanging off, dirty pots and pans on the surfaces. Upstairs was even worse. The jacuzzi bathroom was thick with dust, mouldy and dirty. The bedroom, you had to boil the kettle in the wardrobe has most of the plugs didn't work. No spoons either . The entire bedroom and bathroom was dirty. Stains everywhere and thick dust and dirt and more mould in the bathroom and a dodgy toilet where the handle and seat came off !! How they can let these rooms in these states is beyond me. I would be ashamed. The company do not care. I would avoid this place at all costs . PS It wont let me add any photos
