Amazing
MMeng ChuanHad a delightful stay at the ryokan. The rooms are quite impeccable with the smell of the hinoki filling the room, it was quite heavenly.
We chose the room with the outdoor bath. And given the cool weather, our bathing experience was amazing.
The location was also perfect if you are making a trip to the Sengokuhara Susuki Pampas Grass fields, which is such a scenic spot and of which we enjoyed walked to and through in the setting sun.
We also opted to have dinner at the ryokan, who specially made it Halal-friendly for us.
What's most amazing to us regarding the ryokan was the service. We had a Nepalese staff speaking with us most of the time, as he was the best in English. He personally brought us to our room and even gave an introduction to the room, and what we needed to take note off. After we checked out, he enquired how we were making our way to the train station. There was conveniently located bus stop just outside the ryokan, so we were going to take that. On our way out, he drove out and stopped along the road beside us (good thing there was no traffic) and to our utter surprise offered to drive us to the train station. We found out that he was actually knocking off, but instead of going straight home to rest (before his next shift in the evening), he wanted to drive us to the station. We were exceptionally touched at his extremely kind gesture (as we didn't think it was hotel protocol to do so). Nonetheless, his actions left us a beautiful and lasting impression on the ryokan.
Would definitely go again for the luxurious experience!
Yyip waiThe service of the hotel is good, the staff are friendly and willing to help. The hotel is nicely decorated. The hotel is in an excellent location as well. However, the dinner is very disappointing, it is 7600yen and taste very bad. And in the private onsen, there is a big beetle, it is really scary.
CcghucgkeThe hotel is just around the corner from the mountain train station. The environment is very good and the facilities are complete. Toiletries and lotions are provided. You can check in directly with just a change of clothes. I left my luggage at the Tokyo Hotel. The Kaiseki dinner was of good quality. If you are not used to Kaiseki, you can get off at the previous stop, Mori no Bijutsu. There is Lawson opposite. Buy some snacks, instant noodles and cook in the microwave!
GGuest UserI stayed at this hotel in early May, and the experience was far from satisfactory.
**Onsen Experience:**
The onsen features three baths, all at a maximum temperature of 40 degrees Celsius, which is suitable for beginners. The sauna, however, only reached 50 degrees, lacking intensity. Still the Onsen were good with nice atmosphere.
**Room Quality:**
Our initial room was next to an elevator, even though we asked for the opposite and had a strong smell of smoke. Upon requesting a room change, we were relocated to a lower floor room that was outdated. The odor from the old carpet was pervasive, and despite using deodorant spray and keeping the window open for two days, it remained a discomfort.
**Breakfast Incident:**
Unfortunately, we also encountered a rather unpleasant situation during breakfast. We had booked the meal, which was not inexpensive, and arrived at the buffet before 9:30 and thought that the buffet closes at 10:00 AM and we still can eat but not take something from buffet, as is customary in other hotels. However, at exactly 10:00, the restaurant staff insisted we leave, abruptly telling us that the restaurant was closed. We had to abandon our food and drinks that we just took 9:50 and exit the restaurant. This was particularly frustrating, as they had seen us taking food earlier and never mentioned that we couldn’t finish our meal. There was no flexibility to allow us even an extra 10 minutes to eat.
**Overall Impression:**
The service was not customer-oriented, and the overall experience did not justify the price of €250 per night. Also, unfortunately we experienced a view negative situations and given the combination of issues, I personally would stay in this hotel again nor can I recommend this hotel for a pleasant stay.
SShibaA great place to relax and a stop to travel for Mount Fuji Five Lakes. As we travel by rent vehicle, it is another isolating place from urban to feel the beauty of nature. The outdoor hot spring is the best corner of the hotel. Meanwhile, the Japanese breakfast is definitely one of the best in our 6 days trip.
BBolanghaoxiaoxiannvThe hot spring hotel is very beautiful, and it feels very old when you walk inside. The public areas are carefully decorated, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. There are private hot springs that can be booked, and there are not many people in the public hot springs. You can directly book a hot spring before breakfast. Dinner and breakfast are delicious. There is a young lady who speaks super fluent English. Communication is barrier-free, and every dish is very clear. The only drawback is that the location of the hotel is not very convenient if you don't have a private car. You need to call to pick up the station. If you don't have a mobile phone number, you can contact by email, but you can't guarantee timely contact... If you drop off at the check-out time, you can only be sent to Sheguye to take the bus, but there are not many buses, and they are not very punctual, so you may have to wait for a long time. Except for the inconvenient transportation, other experiences are great!
HHwee ChinThe hotel overall is good, will recommend to my friends. Guestrooms: A bit old style, no USB port, had to bring travel adaptor (I am not sure that whether can borrow from hotel because I have brought the adapter) Public bath: It has indoor and open air pool, amenities are completely Breakfast : The breakfast at French restaurant ”Vert Bois” is delicious, it serves individually, not buffet style. Location : The walkway to attraction is uneven and doesn't have street light along the way, so it will be dangerous if you walk in rainy days or night, especially if you have kids. Services : The plus point is the shuttle bus, it can pick you up at Motohakone Port, after 19:30 still can contact them to arrange for pick up.
GGuest UserPerfect, perfect, perfect! The view is perfect, the facilities are perfect, and the hygiene is perfect. What better time to relax than soaking in the hot spring while watching Mount Fuji? I hope I can come again in the future! It is impossible to live in this room type for 5 months, and it is just right for a family of 3 or 4. There are 3 improvements in hygiene: 1) The lamps in the restaurant are very dusty 2) There is dust in the microwave 3) The fabric sofa has stains and the frequency of deep cleaning should be increased after washing. In addition, it would be more perfect if a Bluetooth speaker could be provided.
OOhbrainsNot the easiest place to find, nestle between the river and the mountain we had the most amazing experience. Friendly staff that speaks English with the most amazing breakfast and dinner. Not the cheapest hotel but you are paying for the experience and I would definitely recommend you try this hotel out. Our room had its own private hot spring and we were more then impressed with the level of detail and service that the owner(s) put into running of this inn / hotel.
KkitekidThe exterior is in the style of a simple European manor, and the interior should have been renovated in recent years. The key is a traditional key with a long plexiglass room card, which is very impressive.
There is a natural hot spring private bath, where you can enjoy the view on the hillside. There are massage chairs, TVs, etc. in the bathing and changing lounge area for you to rest and cool down before returning to the room. The service is very considerate.
The breakfast is a Western set meal, which is exquisite and can be eaten as a breakfast. The restaurant faces the hillside and the scenery is invincible.
We arrived very late, and the front desk was also very friendly.
The front desk was also very friendly during the day, and they responded to every request. Luggage can be stored.
The bed and tatami are very good, and the quilt is a duck down quilt, which makes you sleep very comfortably at night.
The disadvantage is that you have to climb a slope to leave ”Gora”. There is a car to pick you up at 18:00 in the evening, so you can only climb if it's late. It's closer to ”Park Shang” and there is not such a big slope, but there is still a car at 22:00 on the mountain climbing line to ”Gora”, and there seems to be no car at 18:00 on the traction railway to ”Park Shang”. If you go late, you can only climb or take a taxi. We checked in late, so we only enjoyed the service of being sent to Gora after checking out.
