**Positives:**
✅ **Modern & Clean:** Well-maintained, spacious rooms with comfortable onsen.
✅ **Good Location:** Convenient access to surrounding areas.
**Areas for Improvement:**
⚠️ **Room Location:**
- Room extremely far from dining/foot bath – exhausting daily walks (especially with foot concerns).
- *Suggestion:* Offer closer room options or service for guests with mobility needs.
⚠️ **Dining Experience (Dinner & Breakfast):**
- **Food Quality:** Lamb not fresh; overall quality below ”1 stay 2 meals” onsen standard. No beef , only lamb meat is not fresh. Not satisfied with the food quality. We wanna have cup noodles after meal.
Breakfast is slight better.
- **Variety:** Insufficient choices (both Western & Japanese); lacked local/seasonal specialties expected at onsen hotels. Pretty disappointed.
We been to many onsen hotel in Japan. Never encountered this.
- **Service/Clarity:** Buffet poorly organized; unclear signage led to confusion over food availability.
- **Expectations:** Meals didn’t showcase regional ingredients or highlight local cuisine like other onsen resorts. Hakone is famous onsen should showcase their seasonal ingredients in this region.
**Summary:**
Strong potential with modern facilities, but **critical improvements needed in dining quality** and **room accessibility** to meet onsen hotel standards.

The location is a bit remote. From Hakone-Yumoto Station, you need to cross the pedestrian bridge and then take the H-line bus. Get off at the second-to-last stop, and the hotel will be directly opposite. The bus ride takes about 40 minutes, so it's a good idea to have motion sickness medication prepared. The surroundings are beautiful, and the pirate ship cruise is conveniently located right next door. There are no convenience stores nearby, making it perfect for relaxing and unwinding. If you're looking for peace and quiet, this place is absolutely ideal!

Go if you want privacy with onsens, with a view of sorts, though not exactly breathtaking. It is an old building, dated room design, old bathtub, even the coffee cup looks old. Asked for a room with lake view, but got one with a tree branches view. But the staff were very attentive and helpful.

Although the hotel is a bit old, it is well maintained. The room is large and spacious, and the view is good. You can see Mount Fuji. The toilet is very spacious, which is very good. The kaiseki breakfast and dinner are very exquisite, especially in Hakone, where there are not many places to eat, so the hotel's dinner is also a good choice. The hotel staff is very enthusiastic, but the quilt I slept on the first night smelled.

A fantastic hotel, though quite expensive.
Firstly, the setting is superb. Waking up and opening the window, you're greeted with picturesque mountain and water views, with Mount Fuji visible in the distance.
Secondly, the rooms are spacious with well-designed functional areas, making them very convenient.
As the hotel is a bit far from the main commercial areas, we opted for a one-night package that included two meals. For dinner, we chose the French option, which was incredibly refined and delicious, with some particularly distinctive appetizers. Paired with a small bottle of Japanese Dassai sake, I'd give the dining experience an 8.5 out of 10.
After 10 PM, hoping to avoid the crowds, we headed to the onsen (hot spring). A crucial tip: don't mistake the initial shoe lockers at the entrance for your main storage. The first set is only for shoes; there are separate lockers inside for your clothes. Also, always remember to thoroughly cleanse your body before entering the communal baths.
For breakfast the next morning, we opted for the Japanese set meal, which featured nine small dishes, each offering a small portion – more for the variety and aesthetic. While it wasn't on the same level as the French dinner (and you can't really compare breakfast to dinner), it was a pleasant change.
If you have ample time, I'd recommend staying an extra night to truly soak in the unique tranquility.
The Japanese approach to developing tourist attractions is quite unlike what you might find elsewhere; there's no sense of over-commercialization or maximizing every last cent. On the vast Lake Ashi, for example, aside from the 'pirate ships,' we couldn't find any small boats available for rent, which I suppose might be due to safety considerations.

Everything was lovely. The weather was lousy so we stayed mostly at the hotel onsen, and was incredibly happy with the quality of the onsens. Dinner was a buffet with some interesting options. Breakfast was similar to other hotels, but more variety.
Loved the 300m walking trail between the hotel and the ropeway station. It was so quick and easy to take the ropeway up and down.
It rained while we stayed so no Fuji views but I imagine they’d be lovely from the garden on a good day.
Bathrooms are small but functional. We used the onsen so much we never needed the shower in our room.
A cute gift shop and cafe on the ground floor. Self-service coffee machine in the lobby.
Only reason we don’t give 5/5 rating is there was only 1 pillow each. We possibly could have asked for another, but only stayed 1 night and it was late before we realised. Beds were firm, but I liked it. The rooms are huge by what we’ve encountered in other Japanese hotels.

The hotel's service is first-class, with car pick-up and drop-off. You can see Mount Fuji outside the lobby. Watching the sunset and soaking in the hot springs at Mount Fuji, you can relax and enjoy yourself!
The location is halfway up the mountain, so it's difficult to reach on foot, but the store will pick you up from Togendai Station and will also drive you to nearby convenience stores and restaurants!

To be fair, wasnt able to stay in the hotel since realised only 1 day before check in date that
- there isn't luggage holding or storage available
- yamato does not pick up luggage from here
- go apps does not help since no taxi driver accepts pick up from this location
As we were travelling as a relatively big family with more than 6 big luggages and owner did not response to my reachout timely, the location and inconveniences to arrange for transport resulted in us changing our itinerary and missing out on staying in the hotel. We feedback to owner and Trip.com for mitigation if we can get some refund back, but to no avail.
All in all while we understand its not owner's fault, I do wish they could reply promptly on enquiries and also review their cancellation and refund policy.

There is a lot of space in the house, and there is an indoor bathtub that can be used for bathing.
There is a small area indoors with a simple heated kitchen where you can cook your own food.
The hotel bed is very good to sleep on, and DHC's lotions and hair care products are abundant and of high quality.

KKuuipoChyouThe hotel is far away from Hakone Yumoto. There is no car in my place. I have to take a mountain bike and then transfer to a bus. Although it is inconvenient, the process is good. It is for children to experience the feeling of different means of transportation. Since it is a mountain train, you can travel to a certain place Some stations will turn their heads back and forth, thinking that he made a mistake, and it turns out that manpower is needed to change the track.
My family of 4 came and booked a big room for 2 people, because the hotel explained well to the two children, there is no need for extra money, just worried that my wild food is not enough, because all 4 of us are fine eaters, so the problem not big. Since it is a hot spring hotel, there are no shower facilities in the room, so you must bring your own towels when you go to the hot spring. On the other hand, because a room for two people is booked, the hotel staff will only make the bed for two people. understandable and acceptable. Because only two people were paid.
There is no wild shopping near the hotel, only the souvenir shop in the hotel, so if you want to eat snacks, you have to buy it early in the morning.
Finally, Milijian Hotel is near the Baibaihe bus station. It's not Taotai Station, so you have to check the station carefully when you come.

Pphtan68Out of the way, lucky I am driving. The couple Onsen is not really private but is a ”book” system and is outside main building, limited to 50 mins time slot. There is no private bathroom but shared bathroom. The only good point is what other travellers mentioned the young and helpful front desk from all over the world, Hong Kong, Mongolia, Indonesia etc. Not worth the 120S$ I paid via trip.com

克克里斯淵Self-driving to Hakone, I chose Hesta backpacking room. The hotel has a smoking room and a separate bathhouse for men and women. The friendship hall also sells drinks and food. You can use it yourself. The hotel does not provide transportation.
