I haven’t stayed in this kind of hotel before, so I don’t have much to compare it to — but our experience was great. We did the typical sightseeing route around Hakone. While you can get closer to the Mount Fuji, it takes more time and an earlier start.
The hotel had everything we needed, so we didn’t even need to go to a store. Breakfast and dinner were both filling and had a good variety.
The rooms were clean, spacious, and had a nice view of the station and mountains. The hotel is right next to the station, which made getting around very easy — and the trains didn’t bother us at all, the sound was even kind of calming.
The public onsen baths were excellent, so we didn’t actually need a private bath in the room.

Immaculately clean, with stunning views and fresh air. The service was incredibly attentive, and the onsen (hot spring) was wonderfully relaxing. Rooms are quite spacious and come with a balcony. I would absolutely choose this hotel again for my next trip to Hakone. Conveniently, there's a convenience store, a sushi restaurant, and a yakiniku place just a short walk from the hotel. The yakiniku restaurant, run by an elderly couple, offers delicious food, though service can be a bit slow.

An extremely satisfying experience. The bus stop is conveniently located about a five-minute walk from the hotel, along a wide main road that's easy to navigate even with luggage. The Japanese-Western style room with a semi-open-air bath I booked had its own private entrance, situated just outside the main lobby in an adjacent building. This offered fantastic privacy and sound insulation. The room, at 72 square meters, was much larger than I expected and impeccably clean. The private hot spring bath also featured natural onsen water, with a detailed description of its mineral content conveniently displayed by the tub. Outside, there was also a beautiful small Japanese garden. As there didn't seem to be many restaurants nearby, I opted for the half-board plan (dinner and breakfast). The shabu-shabu beef served for dinner was superb; all three of us ate until we were completely full. This family-style Japanese onsen hotel offered incredibly high value for money!

Good location, good service, lots of snacks and drinks to pick up. There is still ramen in the evening, but I was too full to eat. The hot springs ♨️ The water was excellent, the temperature was strongly hot and the quality of the spring water was higher than at another hot spring hostel on my same journey. But it was because of the convenient location so there was no scenery for dinner in the evening fortunately it was a bit not very good to eat starches at the end. Although I eat in a restaurant in a small box in a room, I am always watching whether I have finished eating.

We stayed here for my boyfriend's birthday.
We asked about room decorations and cake, and the staff were very polite and went above and beyond our expectations. We had a wonderful time.
The food was also delicious, and the bath in our room was very comfortable.
The food and service were excellent, but even more than that, the staff's consideration and hospitality were warm and wonderful.
I'm really glad we stayed here.
I'd like to return and stay in a different room next time.
Thank you very much.

The environment is excellent, both the outdoor environment of the hotel and the view inside the room are very good, especially the outdoor bath. As for the service, the service of several Chinese guys is very good, but the service of the Japanese front desk is just average, maybe because of the language barrier. The food is really average, and the facilities are relatively old. We originally wanted to spread the bedding in the cupboard on the tatami, but found that the sheets had not been changed and there was hair on it.

Finally, I stayed in a Japanese-style room. I'd only seen it on TV before, so it was a novelty. The staff were all very nice and welcoming, and several spoke Chinese. The hotel is in a great location, with direct bus access, which is crucial. This area is navigating mountain roads, and trekking there would be quite tiring if the bus stop was far away. I also enjoyed the hot springs. This must be a local resort, as I saw many locals driving there. As for the kaiseki meal I ordered, it depends on personal taste; I wasn't a huge fan. However, I did enjoy the Japanese breakfast the next day. I had originally planned to book a two-day stay, but the second day was unavailable, so I only managed to book one night. So, I ended up visiting two attractions: the volcano cable car and the glass museum. Personally, I found the glass museum unremarkable and not worth seeing. Here's a tip for those who might be planning to visit later!

Our stay was absolutely fantastic. The traditional Japanese room was spacious and super comfy. The onsen facilities were definitely the highlight, way better than I expected for the price we paid. They have 3 types: 1 indoor, 1 outdoor and 1 mixed. All these are bookable throughout the day, from 7am to 11pm and they are completely private. The ryokan is 15 minutes walking from Gora station, so if you arrive by train and you have luggage I recommend you check on google map how to get there with a bus, otherwise you’ll have to walk uphill for a while. The only negative point I can find is probably the breakfast, I tried both western and Japanese style, they are both quite pricy for what they are and I personally did not enjoy the Japanese one. Despite this I would totally come back if I ever visit Hakone again.

Had a delightful stay at the ryokan. The rooms are quite impeccable with the smell of the hinoki filling the room, it was quite heavenly.
We chose the room with the outdoor bath. And given the cool weather, our bathing experience was amazing.
The location was also perfect if you are making a trip to the Sengokuhara Susuki Pampas Grass fields, which is such a scenic spot and of which we enjoyed walked to and through in the setting sun.
We also opted to have dinner at the ryokan, who specially made it Halal-friendly for us.
What's most amazing to us regarding the ryokan was the service. We had a Nepalese staff speaking with us most of the time, as he was the best in English. He personally brought us to our room and even gave an introduction to the room, and what we needed to take note off. After we checked out, he enquired how we were making our way to the train station. There was conveniently located bus stop just outside the ryokan, so we were going to take that. On our way out, he drove out and stopped along the road beside us (good thing there was no traffic) and to our utter surprise offered to drive us to the train station. We found out that he was actually knocking off, but instead of going straight home to rest (before his next shift in the evening), he wanted to drive us to the station. We were exceptionally touched at his extremely kind gesture (as we didn't think it was hotel protocol to do so). Nonetheless, his actions left us a beautiful and lasting impression on the ryokan.
Would definitely go again for the luxurious experience!

A great traditional B&B-style hotel with private hot springs for men and women, as well as mixed private hot springs (reservation required in advance). During the trip, I thought the hotel was relatively expensive, but in fact it was really not expensive. The owner is a Chinese uncle from Japan who speaks Chinese very well. He inherited the family business and the service is warm and thoughtful. Breakfast and dinner are all authentic Japanese food. The accommodation is in a traditional Japanese style, and the tatami mats were arranged by the hotel staff on their own initiative. It was very comfortable to sleep on. Will come next time! ! !

Amazing
GGuest UserThis hotel is surprisingly good. Because we booked the hotel in Hakone late, the hotel at the foot of the mountain was probably fully booked. We were lucky to book a hot spring with a private bath. We had all our meals in the hotel. We had a French dinner and a Japanese breakfast and dinner. The butler service was very good and considerate. Those who stayed in the villa also had a battery car to pick up and drop off at the restaurant and public bath. The hotel is 50 minutes away from Hakone Yumoto Station and 30 minutes away from Gotemba. The transportation is not very convenient. It is suitable for people who like to stay in the hotel and enjoy themselves. We just like to relax in the hotel and not go to any attractions, so this hotel is not boring in the mountains.

DduaduaduStaying in the golf course, the scenery and air are excellent. But if you don't hire a car, there is a section of uphill road from the station to the hotel, which is too tiring to drag the luggage. The Chinese sister in the restaurant is very kind, and the appetizers are all self-service, which is very Japanese.

GGuest UserOverall, I am very satisfied with the hotel. I like the fufu brand very much. The service is very good. The hotel also has staff who can speak Chinese, so if you don't speak English or Japanese, don't worry. I like the hotel's breakfast very much. Thumbs up

XXinaideCherryThe service is impeccable, everyone is very professional and welcoming. There is no public area in the hotel to go shopping, so you can only drive out to play and watch the scenery. I booked two rooms. This room is on a large flat floor and smoking is allowed. My husband is very satisfied. The breakfast and dinner are very rich and satisfying. When I left the store today, I found that even the shoes were wiped very clean, as if they were new

GGuest UserCleanliness was basically beautiful, but I had minus 1 because my hair remained. There is no problem because the location was not requested separately, but it feels like it is in a residential area, so I think it is not suitable for people who are looking for a location. I stayed for consecutive nights, but I was happy if cleaning etc. came in between the first and second days. Not only this accommodation but also when staying consecutive nights, you may not enter. The facilities and amenities are very satisfying. There were free drinks and many towels, so there was no inconvenience. I said a lot, but I am totally satisfied. It was a good trip to Hakone. Thank you!

GGuest UserThe location is excellent being 2mins from Gora-Eli station. It is surrounded by private onsens and even some good restaurants. It’s a below average guest house without any lift or elevator. 2 flight of steps to the front desk and men’s and family rooms, 1 flight of steps to the ladies. It warrants a lot of work on cleanliness service and amenities to grow its image. The only saving grace is its excellent location next to Gora station and the ropeway/cablecar bringing you to Lake Ashi, Owakudani and many places of interest..

TTkachenkoAnnaI booked a room in Japanese style. I got a room, dinner with breakfast, and a hot bath, not to mention a lot of pleasant impressions. In the evening, after a hot bath, sipping umesu on the balcony with a view of the night mountains and lights is a pleasure!
It was very warm in the room - the air conditioner was working for heating. I had to turn it off and open the window - I can't sleep in the stuffiness.
I had two baths at my service: one from 7 pm to 7 am, the other from 7 am to 7 pm. I visited both, in the second I was unpleasantly surprised by the suspension in the common bath - suddenly dirt with other people's hair rose up, I had to make hot baths right away, where you lie alone, in the open air. This is a great pleasure! And in just one bath there are two such baths, i.e. there will be no crowd around, although, perhaps, you will have to wait for one of them to become free. The hotel employee quickly brought dinner/breakfast while I was in the onsen, cleaned everything and made the bed (futon). The only thing that surprised me was that there were many Pakistanis or Indians working in the hotel, although it gives the impression of a traditional Japanese hotel. Yes, the building is a bit old, the kimono is washed out (but the ailment is beautiful), everything is a bit shabby, the baths look like they have been in service for centuries. But everything is quite neat, traditional, the staff is super polite and attentive.

CChuckIt will be more convenient to go to Gora Station for a climbing cable car to drop in the park. Otherwise, dragging your luggage to run along the slope will cost you your life. The hot soup in the hotel didn't seem to be so pure. It was itchy after soaking. Food for two meals is exquisite

WWeitedingtaibuhuaThe price of Hakone Hotel in the peak season is generally not low. This hotel is near Xianshiyuan in the north. The boss is a middle-aged couple. There are few rooms, a terrace, a set of toilets, and the bathroom is the public soup downstairs. Because the sense of boundaries and expectations of Japanese service are not particularly high, it is basically acceptable. Old-fashioned Japanese house, walking distance of 711, dinner options are not much, eating a Korean barbecue, actually very hot.
