Amazing stay, very traditional experience. Rooms are clean. The included meals are amazing! The hotel has limited capacity, so the personal attention for each guest is very nice. There are also private onsen hot tubs which you can reserve for 50 minute each time. It’s really good!

Great experience and the food! Great dinner and excellent breakfast (both at pre-scheduled times). One hour reservation for private use of onsen in the evening and unrestricted gender specific communal use of onsen in the morning.

5 Start - Exceptional Stay in Gora, Hakone! My experience was second to none. The breakfast and dinner service were spectacular. The chefs were real masters of their art. The accommodation and services were amazing. I was treated exceptionally well as a guest at the property. The private onsen is a must-do experience. If I could good a higher rating I would. I will always remember my experience here.

Fantastic, traditional Ryokan stay in Gora. The hosts were fantastic and spoke English and the onsen was very nice. The food was incredible we had two dinners and two breakfasts - all fantastic. I recommend you travel light and come ready to embrace tradition. The rooms are traditional with foldable futon mats. There is a private toilet and sink but the baths and shower are public in the morning. In the evening you can reserve a private time to bathe and shower. The location is prime, very close to the cable car and walkable to the larger Gora station. The famous Hakone ropeway is not far either. We traveled using trains and public transportation to come from Tokyo

This ryokan is a true gem in Gora! We were looking for an authentic Japanese style inn and this did not disappoint! We came into the experience blind with almost no idea what to expect. The host was very gracious and kindly explained how to use the yukatas, baths, and slippers. This was a great way to immerse ourselves in the culture. The rooms are very traditional. There is a small table and chairs in the center with foldable futons in the closet. The floors are bamboo. The bathroom consists of a toilet and a vanity, the showers are separate and public for all guests. In the mornings, the showers and onsen are public with one for men and one for women. In the evenings, your party can reserve a 50min time slot to bathe privately. We stayed 2 nights and had dinner and breakfast both days. The meals were incredible! The first night was a multi-course meal featuring A5 wagyu beef. The second night was a 15+ course omakase sushi meal. Breakfasts were bento boxes with rice, miso soup, and fish. The food was plentiful! This was a prime location for visiting Gora and the surrounding area. It was a 20min downhill walk to Gora Station. Or a quick 6 min walk from the cable car. Very close proximity to the Hakone Ropeway and easy to get around. This ryokan was perfect for our stay. After busy days, it was amazing to come back and enjoy the onsen then dinner in the restaurant. This was a highlight of our trip!
