Hotel Indigo was recommended to us by a co-worker. She raved about how much she enjoy her stay, so we decided to visit for our Anniversary. We loved everything about this hotel from check in to check out, everything was amazing. The hotel staff always made us feel welcome, by greeting us (by name most of the time) whenever we were out and about in the hotel. Hannah checked us in. She was nice and provided us with information about the area. We had the breakfast included in our stay. The restaurant manager Koji-san was awesome. While not a picky eater, I do like my eggs cooked a certain way...lol.. On the first day of breakfast, my eggs were not cooked to my liking. When my plate was taken, Koji-san noticed that I did not eat my eggs. He immediately came to our table and inquired about the eggs. I told him that they were too soft for me. He apologized and asked if I had enough to eat and said that he would like to try again the next morning. I thought this was such a kind gesture. For the next 4 days, my eggs were cooked exactly how I like them. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant. It is a bit pricey, but the chef is very good. The salmon and asparagus were my favorites. Our anniversary was on the 22nd and we received a call from the front desk asking if they could bring us a gift for our anniversary. They brought us an assortment of sweet treats, which we enjoyed with a cup of tea. Very sweet. Our room was spacious, clean with the perfect temperature. The television was the largest that I have seen a Japanese hotel. Our room was on the riverside with a private outdoor onsen. While relaxing in the onsen, you can hear the calming sounds of the river. There is also a foot soak in the garden area. it was a bit to cold outside for me, so I didn't get to enjoy it on this stay. The hotel was cleaned thoroughly and safety precautions were taken. All of staff wore masks and for breakfast, we were provided with gloves to get continental items from the buffet. All tables were wiped down immediately after a party left and were socially distanced. The hotel is in close proximity to just about everything. During our 5 day stay, we visited The Open Air Museum, the Venetian Glass Garden, Gora Park, and The Red Gate of Peace. We will definitely be returning and look forward to our next stay in the Spring.

I was seeking a ryokan with private onsens and the willingness to accommodate my primarily vegetarian dietary habits. I chose Hakone Gora Byakudan and was extremely pleased in every single way. We were a little on the early side (around 2:00 in the afternoon) when we asked someone at an information desk by Gora Station to please call the ryokan and ask if they could pick us up (as we had been instructed). Within 5 minutes we were picked up and brought to the beautiful ryokan, removing our shoes upon entry. The room was fantastic. We were in ”hako”, just off the lobby. The space was perfect! And we loved the privacy of the onsen. Both dinner and breakfast were served in a small private dining room. They indeed served me a vegetarian meal with many courses. My husband had some meat or fish in his meal and they provided us each with separate printed out menus. It was truly fantastic!

It’s a nice newly renovated building, with pretty garden views … but for the price the service was lacking. Queuing up to check in via a machine was a miss, and as a vegetarian I struggled at the expensive buffet. No help was provided when I asked for it, no reply to feedback left for management either. Next time I’d stay elsewhere and just pay for day use of their pool area, which was certainly fun for our 3yo.

Overall very satisfied. The location is next to Lake Yamanaka, very quiet. There are Chinese staff in the hotel, communication is barrier-free. When I went there, I almost couldn't buy a ticket. The staff helped me to find tickets for nearby stations and arrived smoothly. They also provided pick-up and drop-off services, which is very important because it is not convenient to take a taxi here... The hotel has electric power-assisted bicycles, which are 1,000 yen cheaper than those on the street. This car helped a lot. You can see Mount Fuji a few steps from the hotel entrance, and you can see the red Fuji in the morning. The hotel is a bit old, but the facilities are clean and simple, and it is quite comfortable overall.

It was my first time in Japan, and I was not very familiar with the area. It was also quite troublesome to get a taxi here. The owner of this homestay that we booked temporarily in Fuji was Chinese, so it was very convenient to communicate with him. The owner was super enthusiastic. We arrived at the accommodation after dark, and the owner asked why we didn't call to pick him up. Then he drove us to buy food. We booked a Japanese-style room on the first floor. It was very clean. The living room and bed were separated and quite large, suitable for a large family to live together. There was also hot spring water to soak in at night, which was quite refreshing. The owner also gave us a glass of homemade fruit wine, which was very sweet, as well as the best beer in Japan and homemade pickled garlic dishes. There was a forest nearby and it was very quiet. The next day, the owner learned that I was a painter, and recommended that we go to the most famous Owakudani in the area, and eat black eggs. The owner said that eating one egg would make you live ten years longer. 😄 The next day, the owner also took us to Lake Yamanaka, where we touched big fish, fed swans, and rode a pirate ship and a small train. We passed by the Forest of Sculpture and the Forest of Glass Art Museum, and saw Picasso's collection museum in the art museum, which was a real feast for the eyes. I was so busy playing that I accidentally left my earrings at my boss’s house. The boss was very enthusiastic and said he would keep them for me. When my dad retires, I will bring my parents back to play next time. I will also stay at the boss’s house and go hunting wild boars in the mountains with him😆😆😆

It was my first time to stay here, and I was a little worried because I hadn't seen other reviews before. But I really didn’t expect it. The experience here was completely beyond my expectation! Each small villa is spacious and comfortable, with complete facilities. Even the bathrooms are so luxurious, which surprised me. And although the nearby hot spring is not big, it is kept clean and tidy, and the bar next to it is a plus! Every dish at dinner was unique, especially the meltingly tender steak, which made me hooked. Also, the hotel is really close to Mount Fuji. The fresh air in the morning and the authentic breakfast made me feel even more happy. In short, I was pleasantly surprised by my stay this time. The price/performance ratio is really high. I will recommend this hotel to everyone without hesitation!

Recommend for family or group of friends. The house was clean and warm. The fuji view was really beautiful. The only problem is that there is no automatic toilet 😭

It takes 25 minutes to walk from Izu Kogen Station and about 18 minutes to walk from Jogasaki Kaigan Station. Except for the distance, there is nothing wrong with it. After all, it is a villa area. If you don't want to walk, the owner will also provide paid appointment pick-up service. Good facilities, beautiful environment, carefully designed, and exquisite things. Clean! Very comfortable sleep! The boss is also very enthusiastic! ! We also took a hot spring bath on the first night, which was very good! But the quality of the guests was uneven. On the second night, we found that the last batch of guests who took a bath made the hot spring water very turbid and opened the screen window before taking a bath, so that we couldn't take a bath.
